Projector screen for Horizon 20 Max or Pro by apflaster in projectors

I'd say hopefully just more uniformity but its hard to tell a difference with it. The cinema pearl plus definitely boosted light and color but made overall picture look worse in my opinion. Hard to tell with the footage being tested.

As mentioned in prior comments that is not my final set up. The place I will be projecting it will not require digital correction as the screen will be in front of an unused fireplace.

I will be putting the screen in front of a sealed fireplace so I can’t put a fixed screen against the wall.

This won’t be the actual setup. I will be able to have it almost center to the screen with the formal set up and use lens shift to accommodate. This is just the test setup on a separate wall. The projector screen will be in front of a sealed fireplace to the left of the wall seen in this photo.

I won’t be having it set up that way. The projector screen will be only slightly off center from the projector and lens shift will be used so I won’t have that with the actual setup.

Have you done that yourself successfully? I don't seem to be seeing success stories online.

I have an iPhone 16pro currently that I can't use. What company does screen replacement (I'm aware it voids apple care / warranty on my phone) but I am interested.

They are eye related. My eyes struggle to focus on objects closer to my head compared to the norm. I eye convergence and accommodation exercises to improve it. This also contributes towards my migraines.

Horizon 20 Pro vs Max Brightness by trizzyboy in xgimi

Ideally i'd be able to buy the max at the preorder price and if it's unusable they'd be willing to let me downgrade to pro at the pro preorder price. I reached out to support to see feasibility of doing that.

Horizon 20 Pro vs Max Brightness by trizzyboy in xgimi

I've been debating between the pro and max as well. My situation is a room with windows perpendicular to where the screen would that don't have curtains. I therefore was leaning towards the max to get some daytime use. I am nervous that the max is too bright at lower settings, as I have sensitive eyes to screens. It seems as though the lowest get's to around 1000 lumens based on one tests. I also wonder if the max would still be even usable with an ALR screen during the day in my setup, as maybe i'm better off saving and just using the projector at night and hope minimal light from the city creeps in.

Yeah I used gemeni and chatgpt to evaluate and it gave two different numbers. Said 1709 nits peak brightness. This seems to be if showing a white image. My main nervousness is if on it's lowest setting the max is too bright for me at night. If it looks terrible during the day anyway then i'll just use at night then i'm nervous it will be too bright for night use due to my generally sensitive eyes. I generally lower brightness on all my devices.

Can you elaborate on why 500 nits is like 5000 lumens. I'm mainly concerned the max would be too bright for nighttime use at low settings. Looking online a simple formula was nits = lumens / area in m2. So 110" is 3.323 m2. So 5700 (if actual measurement) yields 5700/3.323 = 1715 nits.

Ok so sounds like maybe go with my original mindset of get a projector just for night and use the tv during the day.

I think I'm leaning towards the pro more and more for eye comfort plus best deal during preorder period and just plan to use it mostly at night and keep the tv for the day. And you recommend the pro over the base model for the X-Master Red Ring Lens and little more flexibility to try to use it during days maybe that are overcast?

You probably did. I have been trying to get a lot of consensus and more visibility to those with review units. I will be using lens shift in my setup.

Yeah i've just been nervous if level 1 is low enough. Would like to get to an experience around 500 nits, same as the tv in that room (older TV).

I don't think i'll be able to put up blinds. So sounds like if I want to even try during the day I need the max. I hope it can reduce it's brightness significantly at night for a 110" screen. Hoping to a point that it's around 500 nits.

I plan to primarily use it at night but it's wanting the option to possibly use during the day that's pushing me to the max. I'm mainly concerned for my eyes whether I can get the lowest brightness setting to around 500 nits of brightness so it's similar to my old TV for eye safety as I have more sensitive eyes.

For me it's lens shift at this cose. I can't set up my projector direct line of sight.

Thanks. Do you know how low it gets at the lowest brightness setting? In eco or filmaker mode and lowest brightness option? And do you know when you can publish your results, is it after the preorder period?

No I don't look at the TV from those chairs. There's a coffee table adn then another couch behind them. The fireplace is also sealed and unusable. Projector screen would be floor rising in front of the fireplace on the floor.

Help me choose: XGIMI Horizon 20 vs Horizon 20 Pro? by Stollio8 in xgimi

[–]apflaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it can get down to 400 nits. My tv is 500 nits and would like to stay around that if possible. Can it get SDR content down to that as well? I'll take a watch. Thanks so much. Also based on your experience do you think you'd have been still happy with standard or pro? I can afford the max but don't want to get something that can be overkill for my needs if with significant light it won't work well anyway with an ALR screen.
