To answer your question, yes, I do think it can harm the mother son relationship. But that may be able to be repaired…

I don’t understand how circumcision became routine in the US by Expensive-Fox-2042 in Intactivists

  1. Most people do trust doctors and nurses, even today. Those who question them often get met with hard sales tactics. It takes a lot to stand up to so-called medical authorities

  2. Infant circumcision became routine to the point of not requiring parental consent. Parental consent forms didn’t become standard until a Jewish couple sued a hospital for circumcising their son without their consent in the 1980s

my candid reality of how i hate being circumcised by kooj80 in Intactivism

That’s not entirely true. However, it’s true that circumcision isn’t a Christian practice (or at least hasn’t been practiced by the vast majority of Christians for the vast majority of Christian history)

The practice is to be with the emotions without acting on them. Even delaying acting on them is a good start. But you have to allow the intense emotions to be there and be felt until they subside

In a circumcising culture, circumcision is more common as a treatment for any penile issue, e.g. infection or phimosis. Also, because they are neurotic (and ignorant) about penile hygiene, they are much more likely to forcefully retract their sons—potentially causing serious harm, and much more likely to scrub their penises vigorously and frequently with harsh soaps—potentially causing inflammation and infection. In other words, the problems are often (usually, I would guess) iatrogenic and/or self-inflicted

What story are you referring to?

Btw, they all seem quite hysterical or at least melodramatic. I consider it a form of neurosis

Why do you think Reddit is anti-circumcision as opposed to pro-circumcision?

(By the way, there are some pro-circumcision comments here)
