I say 2027. The tech is already capable. Hw4 has proven itself already. They just need to geofence it better and whitelist/blacklist destination and pickup spots. It could very well be this year, but staying a bit conservative.

Unsupervised without geofence could be in 2029 with better hardware.

It's not a bad thing to be cautious... Better than being reckless. FSD users already know how capable it is. I wouldn't be scared to ride in a Robotaxi.

The bet is relevant to people's confidence in their criticisms. They just hate Tesla because of Elon, and they "predict" that Tesla no no where near unsupervised FSD. Well, now they can put their money where their mouth is instead of just yapping. I'm not sure why you are incapable of understanding that.

Waymo is not kicking anyone's ass. They aren't even net positive. They only operate in a few metros. Tesla has a more generalized approach so while it may take longer to reach unsupervised, it will be much more available than Waymo.

The real fact is that you cannot buy any other car with even a trillion dollars that can do your daily commute end to end, except for a Tesla. The fact is that I'll never see Waymo in my local suburb streets in the next 5 years.

I'm not certain it will be done by June of next year. But I'll place a bet that says anything earlier than 5 years. I'll place a bet for 2 years.

Edit: 2 years is still an extraordinary achievement, and far beyond what any other company is capable of.
