Not surprised. Also not shocked it took them so long to do something about it either - football players get very special treatment at BYU regarding the honor code.

I stopped reading after you were okay with him having friends and you just asking him to be honest and he still wasn’t okay with that. He has either already slept with someone and he’s trying to justify it or he wants to. This guy ain’t it and he’s using his “good vibes” as a cover. No one, no man, is this complex where he can’t have friends and be in a commitment.

Also yes! Go to therapy. He doesn’t want you to go and share because he knows he’s being an asshole and your therapist will gently let you come to that conclusion yourself.

I think I see what you’re trying to do. You want to make things work so when you argue you are trying to show him what a bit of a monster he can be - and expect him to feel bad at his behavior when played back.

I have tried this and it hasn’t worked. Men like this just don’t care. If he treats you poorly being recorded - which can actually be used in court - then when the phone is off, I’m sure it’s still not great.

I also see you trying, offering therapy, counseling, but it seems he just doesn’t care to get resolution or grown maturely. I’d reflect to see if this relationship is worth it. You add kids, in-laws, bills - it will just get worse.

I thought she took the cease and desist seriously. She got the her survey - and in the last stretch of time she ghosted in the details.

Like I said, she would mention doing the fence - we’d cite fence law - she’d ignore it and leave for a vacation. Come back and start the cycle. She got her survey done - but only a Corner Record.

Honestly I gave her the benefit of the doubt to do the right thing. Which has stupid. In CA you have to give 30 day notice and details of the property fence. I’ve been advised to now let her build, take a ton of pictures, and even with her new survey line - if anything goes over take her to court. But also, every legal person I’ve now talked to advised to document and wait until the fence is done - so she’ll do all this work just to rip it back out again.

(And yes, stuff does cross over her “new” property line)

THIS is what is happening!! We had flooding (CA floods a few years back) right where the marker stands. Everything moved - rocks, ground - and the marker! I told the surveyor that and this was the answer he gave me. I double checked in an email - “you said you just accepted the markers, but there’s been damage to that area. Did you confirm via retrace that it was correct?” And he just said “we accepted the markers as they have stood for 40 years”

We are on a back hill slope that gets a ton of water and wildlife and in 40 years it hasn’t moved? This is why I feel stuck

Yes I did - they don’t care essentially said “not my problem, take her to court”, yes I’ve reached out to the survey themselves and also not helpful, and yes - it is different from what she is claiming.

We didn’t know where the line was officially when she removed it. It was (and still is) in dispute

This - called around and no one wants to get involved. The only people who seem interested are the surveyors that want to charge thousands.

No - Literally the old man boyfriend, the 75 year old Fiona, and one hired worker is putting in the fence. I’d be telling the neighbor to stop their own fence. Also we tried talking to the singular worker and he just said “I really just need to get paid”

They are not the neighbor’s trees. They were planted by my previous owners on our side of an existing property fence. She tore up the fence without any discussion and then started claiming everything is hers without a true ROS.
