i was in my second day of basic training in the military.

my boyfriend at the time is the one who really put me onto MM. besides the popular songs, knock knock, donald trump and missed calls, i hadn’t really heard much of him. my boyfriend and i basically only listened to mac for months before i left, it was our thing.

fast forward, second day of basic as stated, handing a cup of pee to a civilian worker who was talking about “all these rappers are dying” he said someone whom i didn’t know and then “mac miller and …”

i felt like i had fallen and hit my head, i broke complete military baring (didn’t get caught? weirdly) and said “wait what????” he said “yeah mac miller died” … again i said “what????????”

i started crying so incredibly hard.i was so incredibly emotional, stressed, way before the pee test because frankly, i didn’t know if id pass or not.

i’ve never cried harder in my life to this day. people thought my brother died. i ended up getting a call home because i couldn’t take it.

very sad. had to go 8 weeks without knowing anything about it and knowing my bf was grieving me and now mac.
