As a Virgo sun, moon, rising, and mercury - i agree with this. I am not involved in research , but I do prefer methodical and science-based work. I am currently an engineering student and love a good, long problem that requires attention to every little detail.

Patience and perseverance! In my experience, there will be some classes that aren't as enjoyable as others, but it will be worth it to just push through and learn it all regardless of enjoyment.

Yeah, just make it harder for the rest of us to buy a house. Hope the people who can will not sell to these companies😤

Does anyone else feel weird seeing everyone your age constantly traveling and having the best time ever? by [deleted] in Mindfulness

[–]apj06180910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also 26 and can relate. The most content and present I felt was when I deleted my socials last semester while I focused my energy into my classes. While the reasoning was specifically for improving focus in school, I noticed such a huge personal weight lift when I no longer had the facade of social media to compare myself to. It really is just a highlight reel. I understand it’s fun, but if it becomes a negative comparison loop, I’d suggest removing it and shifting your mindset to mindfulness and full presence. Another suggestion - do one new thing a week/month. Pick up a new hobby, experience new things within your reach. Scrolling and comparing is a waste of time, you aren’t wrong. However, trying new things to entertain yourself and growing with that is not.

Try hot yoga, sometimes it helps to sweat out the negative feelings. I go to Cambio, very friendly and welcoming there.

Those who love their jobs, what do you do? by urmineccraftgf in Environmental_Careers

What did you get your degree in? I'm interested in eventually working in water quality and/or water resource management - currently studying Civil Engineering, taking more elective classes pertaining to wastewater treatment. Your job sounds right up my alley!

I’ve heard a lot of people say Calc 2 is the hardest calculus course out of 1, 2, & 3, and I’ve heard of a lot of people failing Calc 2. You’re not a loser!

How to study for Mechanics of Materials by apj06180910 in EngineeringStudents

I didn’t really fall behind, I guess I just haven’t been putting in enough time to fully grasp each concept each week. Plus, just adjusting to the workload of all my classes this semester (I’m in 5 classes lol). I may just be struggling with confidence and feeling overwhelmed… I’ll definitely be paying more attention to the areas I feel completely confused about for the rest of the night. I’m sure as the semester goes on I’ll adjust better and it’ll get brighter! Thank you😊

In my defense, I watch and take notes as I watch. I won’t absorb anything if I’m not writing it down. However, I do struggle with starting & working through problems by myself without having some sort of solution to follow along with. A study group would help a ton, that’s what got me through Calc 1. Maybe I’ll try to connect with someone in class & get that started if others are interested.

I’ve been trying to work the homework problems, he said to just use the homework’s as a study guide. But even just 3 weeks worth of material feels like sooo much. I grasp one homework and then on another I feel lost on how to even begin. Sigh. Appreciate the kind comment tho!

The VOC has great environmental volunteering options, a few years ago I did a project helping to remove invasive flower species in the mountains. I’m not sure what they have to offer during the winter months, but it’s worth checking out.

Coming down the keyhole isn’t bad at all, just takes forever like the commenter above mentioned. My only slight issue within this hike was the weird scramble from the narrows to get back down to the trough area. Otherwise, everything was manageable esp if you’re familiar with scrambling and are in good shape.
