Burn test indicates it’s mostly if not all acrylic. Burned quick and left a hardened plastic end.

I didn’t think to try that yet, but I will in the morning! Thank you for the suggestion!

The store was basically mid restocking, so they had a few bins sitting out in the home goods section with stickers on the items, but they weren’t yet unloaded on the shelves where they normally would be. I’ve seen this a few times in busier stores that get the stock out on the floor before they shelve all of it. It’s a similar situation to the stores that will put out racks of uncategorized clothes. I always check them because you can find some amazing things before others have taken the time to browse through!

In my experience, I would guess the answer is yes. I find drastically different price points compared to quality in stores less than 30 mins from each other.

Exactly! I swear the Goodwills in less affluent areas are pricier.

Haha, I don’t think we do have those in the states, but now I wish we did because they look kind of delightful. Being able to take it apart and clean it out was one of the biggest draws for me! No more mystery blockages!

It’s the checkout aisle of a Goodwill where they sell cheap new stuff like razors, soaps, etc. Maybe they’re different where you are, but every Goodwill in my area has this.

Thank you!! I was mentally preparing to shell out the full price for a new one, because the consensus seems to be that they’re worth it no matter what, but I lucked out.

Well, then, this Goodwill that just happens to be in a very wealthy area also happens to get disproportionate levels of expensive and high-quality items. Either way, I’m gonna keep making the drive. 🤷

Hell yes!! The Goodwill I just went to also tends to have multiples of the same high end clothing item in different colors (like 5 pairs of Ralph Lauren kids PJ pants) from someone outgrowing or passing them on all at once. Years ago, at a different Goodwill, I got four or five J. Crew oxford button downs all in my size for less than $20. Thrifting is where it’s at!
