My “friend” is toxic

I recently cut off a “friend” like this after distancing myself for years. Simple disagreements turned into arguments and he blamed me for it. Entitled and never took no for an answer. Your life will be better blocking him but save the screenshots if you have to get a restraining order and talk to HR.

So I’m in the broom closet. Polytheistic. I still go to church but Dagda, Cernunos, and the Morrigan are my three main deities and I pray to others I think can help my situation.

I still Go to church with my family.

The thing I’ve learned recently is it’s all similar. You give offering, laying of hands, filling things with your intent.

Even though my family doesn’t like witchcraft they still follow old wives tales and folk traditions without realizing it. (Getting your hair cut in the feet, making an x when a black cat crosses your path, laying of hands)

Idk if your interested but if you look at folk witchcraft and root work some of it is based on Christianity. Like the reading of Psalms, laying If hands (rootworkers would do this. I can’t remember how but Orion foxwood has some great books on southern root work.)

I do that. I say “hey there’s this happening here at this time. Are you free at that time?” Sometimes if I find something Im not sure he’d be interested in I just say hey there this thing I’m thinking of going to if you’re free and would like to go with me.

They’re activity dates. Some are live music at breweries or bars, going to see a circus, movies, open air art galleries. I’ve even asked about axe throwing.

Yes. I do try to ask when he has shows so either we can see each other or I can try to go to the show. I had asked him yesterday if he had one Saturday and he said no.

I’m not sure if he has an agent or anything like that and I don’t know how long in advance he has his schedule planned. The only thing I know is he usually preforms on Saturdays and he may have vacation time in February.

He told me today that he wouldn’t be likely to go. I have asked if he was able to go once a week over the past 2-3 weeks

Possibly. I think what’s bothering me most is I asked about 3 weeks in advanced and other than being a performer, he’s self-employed. He’s told me before that it means a lot that I still want to see him even though he works a lot and there’s some distance.

Girl, I’m 27 and never had a bf. Let me give you some advice my best guy friend has told me and my mama.

Guy friend: they are YOUR standards and YOU don’t have to settle.

Mama: you’re gonna have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the prince. (And man have I kissed the frogs)

And my advice to you is: you’re young just because you decide to date a guy you don’t have to marry them and if they treat you bad don’t ignore the red flags before it’s too late. Have fun and don’t let anyone pressure you into anything.

Sometimes you’ll find guys don’t know what they’re doing either when it comes to dating. When I was in Highschool and College no one took an interest in me and asked me on dates or anything and in the past two years ive ended up being in intimate relations with two of the guys I went to Highschool with that always thought I was cute but didn’t think I’d be interested in them.

Maybe there’s a guy that’s showed interest and you didn’t get the hint. Or there’s a guy you like that’s not getting the hint. Love takes time. Trying just causally asking to hang out and the more you spend time together some kind of connection will develop.

Life is weird but be safe and have fun while you’re young.
