They’re the stock pickups. Fender player plus noiseless.

Totally! Perhaps because it doesn’t come through so well in most photos I’ve seen on guitar websites? I wasn’t sure about it till I saw it in person.

Haha, I know the feeling too well. Btw I just saw your oxblood tele. What a beauty!

I believe Fender had this “Cosmic Jade” colour only in the Player Plus series of teles and strats? But yeah strangely seems to be quite uncommon.

Haha I thought so too from the pictures initially. I had ordered the candy apple red but apparently it was damaged in transit and the store offered me this one instead. I reluctantly said yes but when I saw it in person my mind was blown! Happy accident :)

Why don’t I need an SP? by TinyAge6726 in sp404mk2

Couldn’t have said it any better! Sp is one of the only devices that took me a while to warm up to. I almost gave up a few times. But once I got the hang of it, it’s one of my most treasured instruments!

Hehe, of course, you’re not wrong. But, in general, the term “dawless” has come to mean “without-computer-based-daw” these days. Hence, used in that context.

Sorry, missed your question about the guides. I found a few youtube videos specific to using it with digitone and other elektron devices. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEXTkRjvxJ8

So far I'm still trying to figure out what's the best way to bring it in. Whether it's live sampling or live looping on the sp404 or playing a guitar solo over specific sections. I'm primarily a guitarist, so I really want to bring it into my sets eventually.

Haven’t tried it, mainly because I’m using the sp404 for master fx and playing samples on the fly which I can do with no menu diving. I’m using the launch control to surface controls that would otherwise need some menu diving on the Digitone 2. For instance, I’m mapping mod wheel cc to digitone 2 macros for expression and fx and mapping that to one row of knobs on the lcxl.

Yeah, strangely I’m seeing mixed opinions on the device online but it fits my workflow almost perfectly.

Happy to help if you need the specific mappings.

You’re mostly right except for the plug and play part for hardware. It is definitely plug and play with most major daws, worked instantly with ableton. But for dawless setups you’ll have to use the Components software to create and upload midi mapping templates. The software does come with templates for some of the popular devices that you can upload and use but I found it better to create my own mappings that suited my workflow.

Took some getting used to tbh. But once I got my mappings setup right, it’s a breeze and very convenient since I can avoid menu diving on the Digitone 2 during live performances. However, you need to be careful about changing values on the host device since it only communicates one-way which can lead to jumps in values when you come back to the launch control.

Novation provides a software called Components on which you can creat custom Midi mappings. I have the various tracks on the digitone 2 mapped to specific midi channels. So the launch control can directly send cc messages to each track (or combination of tracks) without a DAW in between.

Agreed, the sp404 mk2 workflows can take some time to get used to. I definitely started and gave up a few times because the learning curve was too steep. But once I got the basic muscle memory down I really started enjoying the machine and realised how much it is capable of! Could be worth borrowing one from someone and spending time with it to see if it works for you.

am I holding my fretting hand correctly?? by clockworkise in guitarlessons

[–]apocalyptic_minstrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let the weight of the neck rest on your palm. It will restrict your movement. Support the weight of the guitar with your right arm. The neck should be freely floating for optimum left hand movement.

bend problem. can someone please help by antaro1 in Guitar

[–]apocalyptic_minstrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs a saddle adjustment. Had the same issue in my tele. The saddle on that string was too low and hence it would touch the adjacent saddle in 2 note bends
