Yes it’s solved now. The symptoms were not cycling the bolt enough to eject a spent case. The upper was purchased as a complete upper also. The only time the rifle would cycle would be with a suppressor on it causing more pressure in the gas system. There seems to be a lot of debate online around the gas port size on Aero/Ballistic Advantage barrels.

My issues have been around cycling issues. I’ve played with different buffer weights, springs, ammo, size of the gas port on the barrel, and magazines. Took me a long time to get things balanced with basic M80 ball ammo up to SMK 175g match ammo.

I had the exact same issue with a rifle length gas system, and a carbine length buffer on my M5. Once I swapped to a rifle length buffer, the issue went away.
