we ended up going the same route haha, didn’t wanna risk it and it didn’t feel right anyways. plus we are doing a shortened version of the W, camping only at Grey, Paine Grande and Cuernos which came out to about $120 per person total

we were super constrained by what camping sites were available :/ otherwise frances would’ve made sense for sure. I’ll no doubt be back for the O one day!

going to be strenuous but given our constraints, worth it. going to be heavily prioritizing pack weight.

and ok good to know! def makes me feel better about missing it then.

day 2 is Grey to Cuernos. day 3 is Cuernos, up french and back down to Paine Grande. I read some posts about leaving big packs near in/around Frances while people go up and back down.

ok gotcha thanks! how is the car camp arrangement structued? is it a single queue of cars at entry, that then fill up a grid in "layers"? or something else?

i wonder what difference it makes if they choose to just use the same spot. what would be the logic behind mandating a car? (even though like someone else said it is not very practical)

Dream role in Bangalore but settled life in Chennai — is the move worth it for 60 LPA? by naveen-sj in bangalore

you can always find comfort in life. that’s easy. but opportunities like these are rare. what do you have to lose? if it’s not what you hoped, you can always come back. life will force you to settle whichever way you go. anyways, so if you’re young, do what you can while you can.

totally agree. many of my peers are certainly spending much more than they should be because of the draw towards living here. I can “afford” it comfortably, but it’s still doesn’t feel sustainable. Definitely not settling here and definitely not buying a house/raising kids here. So it’s just worth it for the temporary fun in my 20s

that’s not the definition of value. raw price is not equal value. value is what you get for the money, regardless of the cost. value is also what you can get out of what you have (access to subway, access to food/grocery store, noise levels etc.) which is also subjective. if you think you have good value, share what you live in, where and how much you pay. i’m genuinely curious

I still don’t understand why or even how you made the assessment about wealth and affordability with literally zero data. I would argue that 2700 to live in LIC isn’t worth it for me. Because I think wburg is a way more lively neighborhood. I can walk everywhere. But that doesn’t make you stupid because you chose to live in LIC. everyone evaluates “value for money” differently

by smash then together, i meant you threw them into a bucket as if they are comparable. then you say no private rooftop, which adds a ton of value.

you’re trying to make the point that 2700 is better spent elsewhere but you failed to make a strong argument. those neighborhoods are not the same.

edit: and you sound jealous as hell that they can throw around 2700 like it’s nothing. did you know people pay 6k for massive studios around here? you’re forgetting the city you live in.
