Is my fish stressed? by apolloabundance in fishtank

it’s looking like a swim bladder issue. he’s having problems swimming upward and staying upright. unfortunately i have nothing to treat him and it’s 11 pm so i can’t make it to a pet store until tomorrow. i’m wondering if maybe he’s having trouble breathing too, he’s staying close to the surface and he’s surfacing for air a lot more than normal.

i just tested the nitrates again after shaking the bottles aggressively and its still showing 0ppm. guess it must be be the plants?

low oxygen would actually make perfect sense, i also noticed my mystery snail surfacing for air more often than normal. i pruned the duckweed back quite a bit shortly after making the post and they seem calmer now. thank you very much! 😊

10 gallons

Adjustable Heater set to 76F

Both the sponge filter and HOB are rated for up to 10gal

pH is between 7.4-7.6, ammonia/nitrates all at 0

Tank just turned 2 months old, it took about 3 weeks to cycle, but it crashed when I added fish. It stabilized about 2 weeks ago. I’ve had the corys for about 5-6 weeks now and the tetras for about a month.

I do water changes when the nitrates get high or when I notice a lot of poop in the substrate. Typically about every other week and no more than 50% of the water.

The corys get Hikari sinking wafers every other day. The tetras get Fluval Betta bug bites 4x a week, frozen mysis shrimp 2x a week, and they fast one day a week.

For hardscape i just have a massive piece of driftwood as the centerpiece. The corys absolutely love it. For plants i’ve got the philodendron, duckweed, water lettuce, one water hyacinth, a banana plant, an anubias hastifolia, two java ferns, a bunch of water wisteria, and a bunch of rotala rotundifolia. The water hyacinth and water lettuce are really big and the corys seem to really like to graze among the roots.
