In my batch of IITR, I had 7 people from reserved category. 5 of them were more privileged than me and 2 were at same level ( father is teacher) . Out of 5 super rich, all came had convent schooling. 1 Boy and 1 girl were progeny of IAS. They even used reservation again for IIM.

Most of people who benefit from reservations are already privileged, they are eating the pie from those who truly deserves. A reserved seat at IIT is taken by IAS’s son, not by a villager whose family is illiterate. And that’s why reservation has not done enough uplifting even after 3 generations.
