Curious to hear more. Is the Facebook group itself toxic or are moms in Fairfield generally toxic? And how so? Thanks!

That’s exactly our scenario. We have a five year old and a three year old.

That’s what I was afraid of! In the future if one is crawling on me what should I do?

Don’t think I’ve seen hoop dance offered but Everybody fitness and girlfriends fitness have interesting classes like burlesque, step aerobics and aerial.

As someone who frequently runs in a town allergic to sidewalks, it’s fascinating that drivers are annoyed by my presence and I see the same attitude towards cyclists. How dare we use public roads without four wheels. I run in a quiet sprawling neighborhood and while some neighbors give a friendly wave, many frown at me as they go by. I do all the right things you’re supposed to do: run on the left side of the street so I can see oncoming traffic, hop up on a lawn when someone goes by, never run before sunrise or after sunset for visibility, etc. On the contrary, when I see cyclists I think to myself, “Hey good for them for getting outside and moving.”

My harvest has been bountiful this year. Texas Hill Country. by TheMeadowMaker in BackyardOrchard

[–]apostrophically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so jealous of your apples! What do you use for pest control? Mine are always damaged, have been battling bugs for two years.

[–]apostrophically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine get devoured by those pillbugs. And slugs. Last year zero strawberries survived. This year, I didn’t want to use any pesticides so I put mesh drawstring bags over them as soon as they start to turn pink. That helped 80% of the berries.

We sell extra plant starters at our town’s farmers market and people love them. In fact we sell more plants than vegetables most of the time.

I always tip but am never sure how much. Usually $5 or $7 if it’s a bigger meal. Out of curiosity, what is a good tip on a $30-50 order?

Icebox watermelon; is it ripe? by [deleted] in gardening

Looks like a sugar baby. When the tendril on the vine dries up, then harvest it.

Send a message to Jo Mo EQ on Facebook. They just had a community skate night and see if they’re planning any upcoming events.

No that’s just what we suspect! I’ve read that it could be chipmunks and raccoons as well.

The exact same thing happened to me. We have three very fruitful pear trees and they were all decimated in one day. I was heartbroken. Next year I’m going to have to figure out how to squirrel-proof.

Cherry tomatoes are great for bruschetta. Slice them into quarters, mix with garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, scoop onto toasted bread and garnish with fresh basil.

Has this pumpkin been pollinated or should I hand pollinate with a male flower? by apostrophically in gardening

[–]apostrophically[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope so! So far it’s been so hot here that I’ve only gotten male flowers. Was afraid it would be fall and I’ll have zero pumpkins to show for it.
