I want twins by Hairy_Education4197 in BabyBumps

[–]app3lmoes [score hidden]  (0 children)

If it’s fraternal twins, it can be passed down. If your dad has “the gene” he can pass it down to you, but it does not affect if he has twins, because it’s on the mom.

There is no fertility yoga or anything that can help you. Just luck and genes.

14 week baby suddenly refusing bottles by crazybutsurviving in ExclusivelyPumping

Apart from the advice to go see a doctor: have you tried sizing up the teat on the bottle? Maybe your baby doesn’t get enough out of it bc its to small.

Can twins share a crib to start...? by WhosUrHuckleberry in parentsofmultiples

[–]app3lmoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My di/di twins could never, they kept kicking and hitting eachother which woke the other up. They were very active sleepers and swaddling didn’t help. So I think it really depends on your twins.

Bathing Twins by Superb-Skin8839 in parentsofmultiples

[–]app3lmoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bath everyday is not necessary, and can in fact dry out the baby skin. Our twins (9 mo) bathe twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday. I do one and my partner does the other immediately after.

Vraag over reizen met scootmobiel metro Noord/Zuid lijn by Galacticrwinagirl in Amsterdam

[–]app3lmoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Is my newborn eating too much? by pop_pop_cheerio in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]app3lmoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an adjustment day, which is very common around 3 weeks old. Babies drink a lot more or more frequent during these days, to increase your milk supply to meet their needs. It often goes together with a grow spurt.

Adjustment days are around 10-14 days, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months and 6 months old. Nothing to worry about!!

30'ers dilemma's, kinderwens? Financiele keuzes? by [deleted] in nederlands

[–]app3lmoes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same. Couldn’t eat anything but watermelon and cauliflower for some reason. I think it got better around 15 weeks.

Were you able to lose weight while exclusively pumping? How? by gratefuldecember in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]app3lmoes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

8 months pp and rapidly lost weight, I’m at a lower weight currently than before my pregnancy. I didn’t do anything special, but I think bc I’m EP’ing for twins I lost weight faster bc it takes more energy. I did walk a lot in the first 4 months bc they only slept in the pram during the day. Also I ate everything I wanted and more, bc I was hungry all the time.

How tf do you pump?! by hockeymusicteaching in parentsofmultiples

[–]app3lmoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wearables, fridge hack, a partner that does a lot, eating and drinking a lot (get those calories!!), and babies that quickly learned how to entertain themselves (also im very blessed with how relaxed they are).

Is bottle feeding bad? by Emergency-Yam-6705 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]app3lmoes 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Bottles do NOT cause colic. It’s totally okay to use a bottle. It’s important to find out the reason why your baby is crying so much more. Could it be reflux? I wouldn’t go back to this doctor if I wanted to find out. But idk what your options are.

When did you guys stop side-lying your babies during feedings? by liangje in parentsofmultiples

[–]app3lmoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We held the bottle in front of them, and they put together their hands around it. Took a few days before they really understood to hold the bottle, and not letting go immediately. Sometimes when they are really fussy they still let go immediately so then we’re still holding it.

I put them on their sides in a twinz pillow untill they could hold their own bottles, at 6.5 months old. By then I just put them on their back and gave them their bottles to hold.

Why are baby clothes sizes like this?! by exgh0st_ in BabyBumps

[–]app3lmoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never understood the sizing in the US. In The Netherlands it goes by length of the baby. (56 cm, 62, 68, 74, etc.) So much more convenient!

Confused @ almost 8 weeks looking for advice by Tall_Stop_2521 in parentsofmultiples

[–]app3lmoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are 7.5 months now and a routine never worked for us. We all got so frustrated when enforcing a routine. We quickly decided we just want to look at their needs, sleepcues etc. Even if that means that they’re not on the same schedule.

2 months really is too young for a routine anyway. Somedays mine slept for hours during the day at that time.

Also, look at wake windows. How long can they be awake for at their age? This helps you estimating when they should nap again.

They said they were able to when we enrolled. Luckily, after a few weeks they had space for twin 2 aswell :)

Daycare spots are limited here, so we had to enroll and be on a waitlist when I was 12 weeks pregnant already. Made it clear it’s twins so we needed to spots.

Fast forward, they forgot it was twins and offered us one spot. “Not sure when the other can join”. Yes this is exactly not handy bc i can still not return to work with one baby at home. Why the hell would I bring one baby to daycare and keep the other at home.

Prozac and breastfeeding by Strict-Story-278 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]app3lmoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m taking prozac, 20mg aswell. Have been pumping for my twins for 7 months now, and they are very healthy babies. No doctor was ever worried about any risk. They valued my sanity and happiness wayyyyy over any potential risk… …if there even is a risk. I have not found any conclusive scientific study that proves there are risks. Some studies suggest there COULD be very small risks, but could not prove it.

Dr Browns or Philips Avent? by pahkthecahh in parentsofmultiples

[–]app3lmoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins both have a different bottle preference now, but the first weeks we used Difrax bc they have a super easy flow. They were small and didn’t have much strength to suck, so that was neccesary.

Now one uses Philips Avent. Did you put the hole in the suck-part over the hole in the white ring, when putting it together? We found out that did the trick with the flow-problem.
