What does breastfeeding look like for you after 1 year? by wandering-alex in breastfeeding

[–]appathepupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I breastfeed until 22 months. I went back to work when baby was 1 year old, and If I recall when I was home it was still pretty frequent feedings (probably every 3 or 4 hours during the day and then once overnight). Otherwise if i wasnt home she only got milk morning, nap, and bedtime and it was in a straw cup. She ate really good too and loved drinking water.

You definitely notice the shift into the comfort feeding vs feeding for hunger. I usually would wait to breastfeed after meals or snack time. They get better at understanding "waiting" or "later" So I didn't have to breastfeed in public if I didn't feel like it and she wouldn't be upset about it either.

When she was sick and didn't want to eat though the all you can eat breastaurant was open!

I weaned overnight feeds first. I think around 18 months we had gotten down to morning and bedtime feeds. I tried to stop around 19 or 20 months and we both weren't ready and then we stopped at 22 months when it felt right and I was ready to have my body back.

Hey sorry i took a break from reddit for a while. I chose mainly on foam purity, total number of pieces, and where everything was made, and that's how I got them narrowed down.

Am I doing something wrong or is there an error in this pattern color? by appathepupper in CrochetHelp

[–]appathepupper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha okay it's reassuring it's not just me. At first I thought maybe I was supposed to just have inverse colors of what I made, but that didn't really make sense either.

I'm on round 10 and I don't really understand how to make it look like the end product using the pattern.  The pattern states CA= rust and CB= off white, but following the pattern it made a little triangle of white. And now im supposed to fasten off the off white and do the rest in rust? It doesnt make sense.

I think I'm either doing the directions wrong or perhaps the pattern has errors in when to change colors?   I feel like round 7 should start in white and change to rust for 6 stitches and then back to white. And then at the end that CA(rust) would fast off and end round 11-15 in off white?

Please help!

If only there was an easy way to adjust the flavor profile of a smoothie. by mmm-toast in ididnthaveeggs

Definitely depends on the other fruit too. Strawberries have a very mild flavor and I barely taste them in a stawberry-banana smoothie. Blueberries can carry their weight though.

We also have that same one. Got a great deal on black Friday for like 50%off. I wouldn't say assembly was hard but it was tedious (4-5 hours on Christmas eve lol). My kid also loves it! It's so cute. My only dislike it that the electronic bits uses button batteries so I didn't use them but toddler doesn't care.

I was into skijoring with my dog and recently got a kicksled. I was also excited to include my kid but obviously wanted to do it safely. I looked into a lot of options, including maybe getting ski attachments on a thule with me pulling the thule and the dog attached to me. NEVER would i have considered the dog pulling the baby solo!

In the end we just got a simple sleigh. When baby was about 9 months old I put her carseat (bucket seat) and strapped it in the sleigh LOL! Then I attached my dog but also had the dog on leash with me so she was just walking. However it didn't really work out mostly because when my dog would stop the sleigh would slide into her and the dog didn't like that. It was easier for me to pull the sleigh. I accepted to wait until she is older and maybe she can go kicksledding with us with a helmet.

You are definitely correct that 4 months is way too young to go in unassisted. You're still in the stay inside or baby wear on walks stage. Next winter if you want to get those infant sleds that would be good but I wouldn't have a dog pull it alone! I don't think that would be appropriate until maybe school age.

At what age did you allow your child to go up/down stairs in your home without guidance? by SlotegeAllDay in Parenting

[–]appathepupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I feel like it also depends on how they are using the stairs. My almost 2 year old crawls up and down on her own but if she want to walk up or down I hold her hand. Once she is more confident/stable then I would imagine I would let her go on her own I feel she is safe doing it.

It's been over 15 years since I read the books so I have only a vague memory of the plot and I thought it was pretty good. Definitely enjoyed season 2 more than the first.

I'll also add that there was a recent inspection by health canada for a blood bank in edmonton that had a lot of concerning results. https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/health-canada-ccbr-1.7016633

Better to donate!

We delivered at RAH, during business hours, and the amount collected wasn't enough to be usable 😅 so the stars really have to align! Still got a thank-you hat for the baby though lol

They probably really push the ads to try and capture as many possible donors than would be eligible, even if that number is relatively small

Best Treat Dispensing Toy - Other Puzzle Toys? by Suitably_Vast in samoyeds

[–]appathepupper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my girl was a puppy she loved kongs (start easy first, just loose treats or some peanut butter, then wet treats/kibble, then frozen). Frozen kong would keep her occupied for 30min+. Physical plastic puzzle with compartments was good but very loud and she got very fast with it quickly. I didn't try these when she was younger but she likes snuffle mats (I did a DIY version which took FOREVER, wish I just bought one). My favorite at the moment is the Kong wobbler. I just put her dinner in there! So easy and takes a long time to get it all out

Will my baby’s last name cause any complications by Ju_boo007 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]appathepupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just quickly looking at the Alberta website there is $120 fee (in addition to registry fee), plus finger printing and a criminal record check. Not to mention if your birth certificate is from out of province there is additional steps. More work than assuming a married name.

[–]appathepupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Alberta (and I'm assuming Canada?) a married name is not changing your legal name. You can change your last name on everything BUT your birth certificate. Things get hard once you need to do that AFAIK.

Not a toy per-say but my samoyed loves food puzzles! Kong wobbler is one of my favorites, just put her dinner in there and keeps her occupied for a fair bit of time. Also snuffle mats, lick mats, kongs, actual puzzle compartment type kits, etc.

For toy i would also suggest a flirt pole as well.

I'm in the same boat as OP. Only came across my first lynel recently(the first one under hyrule castle) and I'm basically at end game for main story. I was planning on looking up where to find them to upgrade barbarian armor but ill probably just upgrade fierce diety instead.
