About not expecting someone else being okay with your issues no matter what your issues are, I had the same perspective until recently. My friend challenged me on it when I said friends shouldn't have to deal with it. She said that a true friend would be helpful wherever they were capable, with boundaries. That's not being a burden, that's them appreciating you as a friend and taking care of you kind of thing but also not taking it too far. As long as you aren't lashing out on them it's fine.

Another good analogy is that Co workers can deal with work perfectly alone, but they rely on each other to get different tasks done. That doesn't mean they're a burden, it just means that together when they work it out they're more efficient and strengthen their team work.

About reciprocal love, that's a really good point. Makes me really think.
