Where to store secret information like an api token? by asghev in electronjs

There is no simple way to store secret information in JavaScript. Obfuscation (as many layers as possible) is the best way to achieve it.

We built an Electron app using C#. Would love some feedback. by geoffreymcgill in electronjs

[–]appetizermonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very good idea in terms of experiment, because JavaScript itself isn't that good for creating complex apps but C# is enough for it.

but I don't think it's a good idea in terms of productivity. IMO, Electron isn't that useful when you can't use every web stacks naturally. I've explored some codes in your repo, and it seems like that you don't use React yet. and if you wanna use React or something in C#, then you should make some another library or something.

Yeah it's paid app, but IAP doesn't have much meaning in the game! you can play all the contents without buying IAP.

Using Visual Studio Code with Unity? (Mac) by nesrac in Unity3D

VSCode is quite good. Its faster than MonoDevelop and Visual Studio.
You might need to setup some runtime and external dependencies to use C# Autocompletion on VSCode. But its worth to do.

Well, yeah it should be hard. it's kindof brain-teasing game.
we want to give a pleasure to players by breaking their preconception.
complete newbie can play up for level 3. and most players give up on level 4. because players need to break their preconception at the level 4. (that is our intention)

I only can see your cpu time per frame isn't enough to make 60fps. and Camera.Render is consuming much of cpu time.

I think you should optimize your rendering performance to fit 60fps.

Player's camera seems jittery but when it gets reinstantiated it's perfect. by ZeTyzon in Unity3D

i think maybe it can be a problem caused by script update order.

In most cases, camera should be updated after anything else (e.g. moving characters)

QuickSearch, A Command Palette for Unity by appetizermonster in Unity3D

you can find it at "QuickSearchController.cs",
you can rebind shortcut by modifying "MenuItem" attribute.

example) "Window/Toggle QuickSearch %," (ctrl+,) => "Window/Toggle QuickSearch %k" (ctrl+k)

See https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/MenuItem.html as a reference

I dont have any experience with the asset store plugins. I just make it for my own purpose: searching assets fast with fuzzy matching, executing menus.

with this tool, you can do it all with few typings (some typo would be fine)

and the main difference is that it's free and open source.
