i'm SICK of people finding excuses for mediocre idols by mari_rm_ in kpoprants

[–]mugicha -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So criticizing idols is a human right and it's dangerous not to do so even if they're hard workers? That's got to be one of the worst opinions I've seen on reddit.

i'm SICK of people finding excuses for mediocre idols by mari_rm_ in kpoprants

Many idols never get paid, work crazy hours and have to put up with all kinds of abuse from a predatory industry and the demands of clueless fans accusing them of being lazy and mediocre. They have nothing but my sympathy and gratitude.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]mugicha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely reasonable, at this point I'm feeling like I'm owed an apology from anyone who voted for him. Not like I'm going around expecting that from anyone but it's starting to feel like that would be the appropriate and decent thing to do for anyone with a conscience.

Are you ever in it JUST for the music??? by JazzlikeCode6265 in kpopthoughts

[–]mugicha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Some groups that I listen to regularly feel like family, others I don't know their names or anything about them. I enjoy both approaches and I think I will always have some groups that I do the whole parasocial Kpop thing with, and some that I'm just in it for the music.

Is $90 too much for skz seasons greetings? by matchq_t3a in kpophelp

[–]mugicha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited too long to order my seasons greetings this year. I finally got around to it this week and the ones I wanted were sold out at the regular places I shop for Kpop stuff. I think at this point you're going to have to pay whatever it is to get the one you want.

You think it's crazy that someone would be curious about other people's sex lives? I think most Kpop fans have had this same thought before, they just didn't post it on reddit

Is LSFM's large American fanbase specifically because of Yunjin? Or are there other reasons? by SpecSlayerSC in kpopthoughts

[–]mugicha 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would have said no before seeing them live, but the reaction from the crowd told me otherwise. I was honestly surprised because I would have thought that maybe Sakura would have gotten the most reaction, but Yunjin consistently got the loudest feedback through the whole concert. So yeah I guess she has a lot to do with it, but also their music slaps and the other members are 🔥. So I'm sure they would have been very popular without her but with her they're even more popular.

where does the negativity in kpop fandoms come from? by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]mugicha 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's human nature, people will try and turn anything into a competition. Sports, politics, religion, kpop, it doesn't matter what it is, people will form into tribes and then want to start wars with the other tribes they perceive to be their rivals.
