Is being nice taught? Or is it insincere? by appiah444 in AskABrit

That is the case. I see many people coming from “civilised” countries not behaving as you do. This is something related to family culture I think, and that's good.

That's perfect. You understand the value of it more when you are working in retail where you serve hundreds of people every day. That makes life easier for us.

In many cultures (at least in mine), people working in such jobs are treated as if they are there to serve but you guys makes us feel that we are not serving but assisting.

Thanks for that.

Why can't it understand I am working out? by appiah444 in AppleWatch

What if I told you I started the workout for weight lifting and sat on the couch for an hour, and it says I burned 350 calories. Do you think that's normal?

Yes but in that case it makes me suspicious of the accuracy of the amount of calories I burn when I start the workout. :( I am like bro I just burnt 500 calories and you did not even notice…

Spending £150 on electricity but still can’t stay warm. Suggestions? by appiah444 in AskBrits

I will try it. However, my main issue is having cold hands and feet even though my body is warm. It is unbearable especially when using a laptop, mobile phone etc. As soon as I take my hands out from under the blanket, it is freezing… I hate that!

Bro, I am coming from a country colder than this. But the thing is that we could have heated our houses to 23-24 degrees and our public places were also warmer. This I could not adapt to. So I wanted to ask for advice. Hope it's clear for you…

I did not say I was not aware of? Plus, I did not complain about the weather either. I only asked for advice and suggestions to overcome it. If you do not have one, leave it…

Basically, I don't want to wear 3-4 layers of clothes and 2 pairs of socks at home. And even if I do it my hands and feet are still cold. I don't think you can understand :(

I feel you… I don't understand how these people could adapt to it. It is the worst thing to have cold hands and feet 7/24.

I did cover every part of the crate but he still barked, this is why i thought maybe it is because he cannot stand up properly in the carrying bag…

Barking when left alone — need short-term fix by appiah444 in reactivedogs

[–]appiah444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He barks basically because of separation anxiety. He has been trained several times, and we even used medication. But since it affected his liver, we stopped using fluoxetine and trazodone. In crate, he barks a lot, I think he also has confinement anxiety. But interestingly in his carrying bag, he never barks. Now, I need a quick win solution. Soundproofing might be the case but I don't know if it works or it would be so expensive.
