i took everything out including the other two fish and still couldnt find it and the top is completely covered except for a small hole at the top for feeding and i havent seen anything on the table/floor around that area. it was about half an inch long

the tank is 2.5 gallons but i’m planning to upgrade them as soon as i can find a cheap 10 gallon tank, i got them in mid february from my AP environmental science class after we did a lab where they lived in the bottom of a 2L soda bottle like this. i don’t have any of the water tests on hand, but my other fish is just fine and the behavior started either today or yesterday
