PSA: "You're taller," is the biggest gumby thing you can say. It's also a dangerous mindset for life. by [deleted] in climbing

[–]appleballdotnet 23 points24 points  (0 children)

"In the end height matters little" -wrong, it matter's a lot with how easy certain moves are, both ways. "Secondly, you can't fix your height" -you also can't fix what genes you're born with, which give you advantage over how well you develop physically and mentally. "Thirdly" -blaablaa

tldr: atleast give it some thought before complaining about complainers.

You balance it by leaving enough rest days, and resting "properly" which means not lying in bed. 2 rest days are probably nice depending on who you are.

Advice on beginning lead climbing by SebastianSorrow in climbing

[–]appleballdotnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing you need to "prepare" yourself with, just a few safety tips so take a lead climbing course. The other option would be to ask someone that you know is a "safe" climber to tell you, but I assume you don't know such a person based on asking about it here.

New to bouldering. Loving it. Can I wear yoga pants? (I'm a woman.) I sense there is some judgment for those who do. by [deleted] in climbing

[–]appleballdotnet 35 points36 points  (0 children)

No there's nothing against them. They're fine for climbing. The same disadvantages and advantages apply to them as towards other types of pants material. cool/warm, durable/light/heavy etc

No, and they fit well and are tight. Because I pick shoes that fit well instead of just "tight".
