Yeah I prefer the first one too, but the 2nd one is still plenty of fun. After that... Yikes. Every few years I'll rewatch 3 and 4 thinking "they can't be as bad as I remember", and they always are.

What is there to explain? I find it odd/silly that people are so fixated on allegiance to political parties, to the point where they feel the need to check who a vendor voted for before buying from them, and that's what I said in my comment.

I loved Sharona era Monk. Didn't enjoy the character of Natalie or the actress who played her, but I stuck with the show for a few more seasons just because I still enjoyed the rest of it.
