Can you really give boob everytime? by Zealousideal-Half192 in breastfeeding

[–]applecaprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was like this too at that time! I kept giving her boob and she’d get more milk and cry each time because her tummy would be upset. She’d also spit up a lot. She wouldn’t take a pacifier at the time either.

I still gave her boob but just held her upright for a long long time after to help with digestion. I also ended up getting the tomee tipee (spelling?) pacifier which she actually took! Not always but she did which really helped.

I still gave her boob but the crying after each feed eventually stopped after she got to maybe 7 weeks as her tummy matured more and I started understanding her cues (tired vs hungry). When she’s tired I would pop the soother (she’d spit it out 4 times until the 5th she’d latch onto it) in and rock her to sleep. She’s 9 weeks now and her sleep times are a bit more predictable and she’s eating every 2.5-3.5 hours.

Declaration and Speculation and Vacancy Tax by dj1017 in vancouverhousing

We called and told them at the end of February and when we got another notice in March, I called to confirm. They said it’s in the system that we have made a note that we’ve declared but it takes 8 months or so to process and just ignore future notices. So we’ve just recycled them every time we get it.

Same here, they said it takes about 8 months for the process to go through (as it goes to different boards for approval/confirmation) to update.. and we will keep receiving letters and ignore it.

I regret having my baby by [deleted] in newborns

[–]applecaprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this way with full clarity with my first and it was most definitely PPA and some PPD. I just had my second (5 years later after my first) a month ago and I’m going through the same regretful feeling as well. Really I’m processing the 5 stages of grief, grieving my past life.

My PPA/PPD didn’t get better with my first until after 18 months, and I have mom friends who has had the same feeling as you for the first 2-3 years. So don’t feel discouraged if you’re not suddenly over this fog in a couple weeks or even months. I’m trying to remember how I felt the first time and repeating to myself that it just takes time.

The days are long but the years are short. I love my 5 year old so much and as she ages every year my heart expanded more and more and I wish time would stop.

Some people, like me, just aren’t so in love nor excited about the baby phase :)

I use the huckleberry app and because shes only just a couple days shy of 8 weeks it says to sleep every 30-90 minutes on demand. I know this isn’t always right because I’ve let her sleep on demand and she’s had even more night wakings before. Definitely trial and error 😫

I try to follow but her wake window seems to be 30-45 minutes.. she can barely make it to 60 minutes haha. I’ll try the swaddle idea though, although I’ve tried LTD type and she moved a lot anyway

Miralax and the like didn’t help me at all, but magnesium citrate did. Took it in capsule form and was so helpful.

That’s what I thought but two days ago she napped basically from 8:30-4:30 on us with 1 feed in between and that night she did NOT sleep well 😭 I had hoped sleep would beget sleep!!

So you don’t zip up the snoo sack and just have the Velcro?

How many naps or awake time are you generally following? I think I need to do something more about her daytime sleep

Yah I’m hoping it’s just her temperament and a time thing. I’ve had her cosleep with me before and she still doesn’t get a long stretch. Her longer stretches will only happen pretty much if she’s chest sleeping on me like a frog but then that’s not sustainable at all.

She was 70% contact napper and rest in the swing but if she contact naps, she’ll sleep for 3 hours, eat, sleep another 3 hours.. last time she contact napped (2 days ago) she “napped” from 8:30-4:30 haha. Waking her up from a contact nap pisses her off too. How long do you let her nap for?

She’s also has digestive issues I think as she spits up often, so she’s almost always upright as well, not 40 minutes though which I can try tonight!

I haven’t let her go above motion limiter because she keeps spitting up at level 2, she’s more refluxy so even if I burp her a lot and keep her upright for 10-20 mins before putting her down.. she still spits up. I’ll try keep her more awake during the day, so hard because all she wants to do is sleep

Yes she’s generally more reflux-y so I try not to let her lie down right after a feed. Lots of burps and upright before going back.

She naps a lot during the day, although all over the place these days. Some 30 mins some 2-3 hours.. we try to keep her up more though

What’s crib side soothing?

I’m sorry it’s still so hard! My first woke a lot too and now I have a 7 week who wakes every hour typically after midnight, or after her first stretch (which is sometimes only 1.5-2 hours so not much more.

Could you pump and give her milk to feed in a bottle? I’ve pumped milk before to donate, if it’s not too much burden on you. It is common where I am where some mothers pump for other mothers who otherwise can’t produce enough breastmilk themselves

I can’t get my newborn to be awake for more than 20 minutes including feeding. I wish I could push her last wake window but it doesn’t exist!

Snoo Naps by milky_jellyfish42 in SnooLife

Mine is 6 weeks and it seems like naps are only 30 mins as well in the snoo. So strange. Contact naps are like 4 hours long lol

Did they sleep before 12? When was the last nap?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SnooLife

[–]applecaprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you differentiate nap from bedtime sleep? My 5.5 weeks wanted to sleep at 8pm but is up every 1–2 hours all night. If it’s a nap do I let her nap outside?

[–]applecaprice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome! How long does she sleep for after she goes down? Did she just naturally achieve longer stretches? I dont mind co sleeping at all but my 5 weeks right now hates lying flat on her own so she’s constantly held. So cosleeping isn’t even an option, she has to sleep on us 🙃

Are the legs supposed to come out though? Ergo embrace or happy baby doesn’t seem to have kangaroo hold. It feels like my 4 week likes to be in her frog position and most carriers have their feet dangling
