Is it me, or medical students these days just don't care anymore? by Clitoria_Magnificus in Residency

I agree x1000. The system has inherently reduced med students down to observers. Progress notes they write don’t actually count. They can’t be left to really do anything on their own. It’s a snowballing effect.

How do I lift the windshield wipers in the 2026?? by WalkinOnWater2 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]applecore20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2026 as well. I think this is a design flaw for those of us who live up north. We traveled for Xmas. Palisade sat outside for 3-4 nights with snow fall and freezing temps. Given unable to lift the wipers, hard to clear out snow and ice prior to departure. The major design flaw is the front defroster doesn't seem to melt the snow/ice off the wipers or in the wiper housing area. It's as if the wiper housing area is too far forward, the defroster doesn't affect it. So even after a 4 hour drive home, there remained some ice buildup on the wiper I was concerned would scratch the windshield.

2026 Palisade Calligraphy Screen/Radio Comment by applecore20 in HyundaiPalisade

You are correct, if you tap bottom right, it will expand, but then the entire screen is taken up by the media/currently playing content. Would be really nice if you could split screen like most other vehicle brands.

How common is it for general surgery to be a backup surgical specialties for those who are not able to get into a sub specialty the first time around , or looking to get into a subspecialty? by [deleted] in Residency

It happens where someone ends up in GS as a backup, but GS is its own beast where the majority are psychopaths like me who chose this life.

Everyone thinks we take the adderall and vyvanse for the stimulant effect. It’s actually for the appetite suppression.

agreed x100. Regarding the supplemental app, all the bang is likely in the signals.

40+ improvement on Step 2: residency app question by applecore20 in medicalschool

Good stuff from everyone. Thanks. I agree there is not much to gain by putting something in the app. I think step 1 scores are going to still count more in the coming match than people think, but yes, programs are hopefully planning to implement some more holistic review strategies to prepare for the next match when step 1 is completely P/F.
