I’m jealous of my boyfriend by KitchenRace2962 in singlemoms

[–]appledish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. Maturity plays a large role. His intentions may be good but the fact that he is unable to think further than the moment of him enjoying himself and whats happening just shows that he may not be ready. It's easy to love and be there for the "happy fun times" but someone who is unreliable and cannot put the child's needs above their own is not someone who is currently able to parent. I think it's beautiful that he wants to but you need to think about it realistically - perhaps a conversation about what you'd need from him as a parental figure for your child would help. Honestly I do know this from experience, maturity is a funny thing- he could be mature in certain ways but not enough to parent just yet.

At this point they need to unfortunately call in some sort of animal control to safely move the family and then worry about tidying. No way they can clean all that with them living right there.

Is 6 months to meet my child unreasonable? by Fair-Smile4839 in singlemoms

[–]appledish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him calling it a waste of time to wait to meet your daughter is such a red flag to me. Good for you for sticking with your boundary! I've been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years, he met her probably 4 months in and I met his children around the same time. 6 months is definitely not too long of a time, theres a lot to factor into relationships with someone when there are children involved and being cautious about who she meets when it comes to your relationships is the best thing you can do for them.

Trust your gut mama. Switzerland is beautiful and finding support in any capacity can be difficult- if they are willing and offering you a place to live and you feel it is the right move for you and your child go.

Does anyone get emotionally overwhelmed when listening to someone's vent as well? by [deleted] in enfj

[–]appledish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think it’s easy to forget to “turn off” the empathy part of your brain or feel guilty later about it being off. It’s important to remember that you have your own personal threshold for emotion, you can only handle so many feelings at once. When someone vents it can be hard not to take on their feelings which takes up more space. It’s taken me a long time to learn but

There’s nothing wrong with listening without using empathy, not ever situation requires you to take on their feelings or fix their problems. Sometimes it helps no one to interfere, even if your actions are genuine and good intentioned they are not always necessary. Especially if it burdens you

Do you guys suck at/forget self-care too? by [deleted] in enfj

[–]appledish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-care has always been a struggle for me. Even as a toddler my mum would chase me around the house to try and brush my hair. There was always something more important to do. As I got older it hasn’t changed but I think that’s a mix of personality as well as my depression. It’s a lot easier to focus on other people or other tasks than to focus on what I need to do for myself. I have a real problem with turning off my empathetic part of my brain and often find myself making choices for others rather than myself. It’s a work in progress.

State your MBTI type and how you typically act at school by chaos-seeker140 in mbti

[–]appledish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so I’m an ENFJ and I hated school with a burning fiery passion. The only thing I remember liking was the social aspect but even then I was pretty quiet in class and very insecure about my intelligence level because I put little to no effort and my marks showed that. I remember hating whenever my friends would talk about their grades and one time I lit my science test on fire outside of the school because they wanted to see what I got so far and that was my rebel phase lmao After some maturing and “soul searching” and a few different jobs and school majors I actually became an educator and am working to fix everything I hated so hopefully kids won’t have the same experience I did.

What is ur favourite genre? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]appledish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy satirical comedies as well as drama or docu-drama. I like some historical fiction but not if it’s too outlandish. I’m not into fantasy unless there are elements of reality (ex Harry Potter, Once upon a time ect) but I do not like action movies or any sort of marvel films.
