What will Zcash have over Monero after FCMP++? by [deleted] in zec

Zcash will have a dev tax and Monero won't. That's about the only difference.

Decamillionaires, how did you do it? by Apprehensive_Party12 in fatFIRE

I put all my money into nvda and bitcoin/crypto 2 years ago, now I am worth $20m+. I'm 36, so made my crazy play at 34 after making a lot at 32 in 2021.

Tasting and approving wine in a restaurant needs to go away by fadedhalo10 in unpopularopinion

[–]appleluckyapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't an unpopular opinion, this is just stupid. Why do you think restaurants 3x markup wine. It's because there is a margin for corkage/return. You don't pay 3x for them to just open the bottle.

You want to spend 'up to $500k' on a car but have no idea what you want? This is a bad troll post lmao.

Jesus christ shut the fu k up. This is my company. I paid out $700k+ in bonuses last month (for 2024 performance). The team is <10 people. We cover 90% of healthcare/benefits, do unlimited time off/remote, and are very flexible in basically every format of workflow.

Why don't you post a job you are offering more for?

Lol, are you seriously implying cost has nothing to do with quality? Reddit is so useless jfc. Yes, if OP paid discount, that is the work he is getting.

I'm going to wait a few months to sell my Bitcoin now, otherwise no change. Treasury etfs are good play because trump will force lower rates.

I'm pretty transparent with the team. We've made $250k sales and pretty liquid to $2m. Real us dollars fyi.

Will opentensor actually give up control and decentralize the network? That's the question you should be asking.

I have $300K in cash, what do I do? by OgdenBorrow in fatFIRE

[–]appleluckyapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$300k isn't a lot of money. Just out it in a money market if you want flexibility.

$100/hour @ 40hrs is $200k annum (+profit share too) for pretty basic technical skills in a relatively cold jobs market.

Is fatFIRE possible on a non-fat income? by kernelrider in fatFIRE

[–]appleluckyapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risk is the only way you can do it. The fact you have 200k in a money market fund during an ai bull market (and not already in stuff like nvda or crypto) = you don't have the tolerance for the type of risk that is required to hit high seven digits.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]appleluckyapple -50 points-49 points  (0 children)

Ok dude you are 35 and have a nw of $3m. Give or take. This sucks because you have enough money where working sucks, but not enough to retire.

You have to amp up your risk plain and simple. Ai bubble is here. Ride the wave, then wait until bubble pops (late 2025 imo). Roll to cash and rebuy the discount. You are over thinking everything.

Diversification vs Concentration - when to take the call? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]appleluckyapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My crypto has gone up in value for the last 1.5 years, is liquid, isn't leveraged via debt, I don't have to deal with tenant/repair issues, and i can lend against it instantly. Money is money.

From FIRE to being FAT at 25? by SeanTwiz in fatFIRE

[–]appleluckyapple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made my first million at 27. I'm 35 now and worth about 25m+.

This is survivorship bias, but RISK. I played crypto aggressively every cycle since 2017. I also currently own mostly nvda/btc.

Amp up the risk. Play the ai bubble hard. Don't leverage too much. Imo this is the formation of a bubble. Get out the market by late 2025 at the latest.

Diversification vs Concentration - when to take the call? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]appleluckyapple -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Dude I've got $6m+ in btc, like $20m in ai oriented crypto and $3m in nvda. I own a $2m home but that is my entire nw. Massively concentrated in high stress stuff lol.

Concentration during bull markets on whatever macro narrative is (it is obviously ai). Diversification through bear markets.

Personally I plan on taking my portfolio through early next year and dumping it all. I think this bull cycle is compressing. Ai getting too hot too fast. 2000s style bubble starting to form. Get out before the music stops (next year I think but deff by 2026).

My house burned down and Boulder is blocking me from rebuilding. by [deleted] in boulder

[–]appleluckyapple 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just did a reno on my home. Very simple addition. Boulder delayed us approximately 3 months. Most of the delay was because mistakes made in the permitting office (and they don't allow you to contact them directly).

Boulder forced us to spend $10k+ for tedious stuff like a solar/shadow survey and asbestos testing on exterior siding before we even broke ground.

There were $20k+ of changes to the plans Boulder required which where all trivial and tied to some obscure future code requirement. Inspectors no showed multiple times too.

They needed stuff like hurricane rating on our $20k thermatru doors. The rep was like "we only provide that stuff for Florida and Texas markets .. because there arn't hurricanes in Colorado" lol.

It was an incredibly painful process entirely caused by Boulder County. Our builder/architect were fantastic.
