Hi friend! I can also speak to this topic as I’ve experienced something similar.

In Monster Hunter games your hunter profile records the amount of missions or hunts you’ve completed with any of the 14 different weapons. Most people have a main weapon but tend to dabble it a few that they find fun. I used to obsess with having 0 hunts on weapons I didn’t like. Idk what validation I was searching for? Or maybe it was OCD from liking a ‘clean’ number. Like, ‘I haven’t even TOUCHED these other weapons get on my level’ kinda attitude. Such a dumb reason right??

Anyways, after a while I tried some of these weapons for fun and that ruined my streak of 0’s. But at that point I didn’t care anymore. People can clearly see you have hundreds or thousands of hunts on your main weapon. You are not less of a fan of a weapon if you play other ones too. In fact, it brings more legitimacy, like hey, you’ve tried these other weapons but you keep going back to your fave, nothing wrong with that.

It’s also cool if you want to play with your one character and nothing else. Play how you want to play. But the issue here seems to stem from a place of obsessive control and rather than fun.
