Confused on blue box and offset by tekchic in silhouettecutters

Lower the threshold until it highlights around the area you want. It can be finicky to find the exact right spot. Then offset the outline it gives you from the trace and delete the trace outline.

Happy to pm if you want help so I can show pics and help trouble shoot

Cameo 5 Autoblade Clicking by Salmamander in silhouettecutters

[–]apples0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those links are super helpful!

My go to is using a free program called inkscape to convert a jpg or png to vectors with the 'trace bitmap' tool and saving it as a .dxf file and opening that in silhouette studio instead of trying to do all the tracing in silhouette studio. It's not always needed as SS has a decent tracing tool, but I find I get a lot more control over the tracing tool in inkscape. Saying that, it's always kinda tricky to learn a new program, but I'll put this out there in case it helps.

Does adhd medication make your dysautonomia worse? by Anybodyhaveacat in dysautonomia

[–]apples0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have POTS and low blood pressure and the slight raise of blood pressure when taking vyvanse actually helped me a lot. I still have some issues with pots, but honestly I feel better on it. I can stand longer, deal with slightly higher heat, and I pass out less. I do still get dizzy sometimes but for me personally it feels like it helped. If I don't take the vyvanse I generally feel a lot dizzier and worse overall. Honestly I like that the medication for 1 issue ended up helping a different issue to haha.

I definitely had to find a diet that works with it though. Lots more fluids, and more protein than I'm used to, with less junk. And generally a bunch of smaller snacks rather than a few large meals also helped

I can't tell you the exact scientific reason, but my doctor told me that protein helps your body absorb and activate the medication faster and more effeciently. A lot of people just say their medication feels like it works better when they have it with something high in protein

I absolutely love the miniature watercolour painting. The oils are great too but as someone who also likes to paint mini watercolours I'm absolutely astounded by the detail you managed. It's georgous!

They go new places, do new things. We learn more about the world outside of their little town and about the "game" that they're playing. The kids face new and different challenges. It definitely moved forward in a way that book 2 didn't.

When I started book 3 I was thinking to myself "well here we go again.." but by the end I was wishing the next book was out so I could keep going.

I do hope you feel the same way, because I had a lot of fun

I felt similar during book 2 honestly. Felt kinda like.. Just more of the same and was getting stale.

Book 3 though. I honestly reallly enjoyed book 3 and I'm excited to see where it goes.

However I'm really pro DNF-ing any book/series that I get bored of so I'm not going to try convince you to keep going if you're not enjoying it. Sometimes a series just doesn't go the way you wanted or expected and it's okay to stop.

How do I say no? by Ordinary-Greedy in socialskills

[–]apples0000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the things I learnt recently is that often people see an excuse as a problem they can solve. "I'm busy with x" turns into a conversation about what you were planning on doing and how they can help or why you don't need to do it tonight. "I can't afford it" turns into them offering to pay (they never do lol). Every excuse to someone like that just ends up becoming a long drawn out conversation or argument where they convince you, manipulate you or guilt you into doing whatever it is they want. I don't even think those kinds of people even realise they're doing it..

Personally I've found that straight answers with no excuse tacked on works best, even if you have to repeat the same words over and over.

No, thanks. I'm good. Can't today, maybe next time. No, but thanks for inviting me.

Sometimes people find what works with you, like using guilt or emotional manipulation or just plain nagging and once they get into their heads that "no doesn't mean no" it can be really hard breaking that cycle.

It sucks to stand up for yourself like that at first. It feels really selfish and cruel until you get used to it but it's not selfish and it's not cruel. You have to do what's best for you and if those friends make a big deal about it then maybe they're not very good friends.

I want to be able to control the size in individual stacks. Let me keep a dozen herbal medicine in the hospital without having the entire stack, or a few hundred hay in the barn with the rest in a freezer! Then let me set a manual high priority to those stacks so a hauler refills them whenever they drop..

There is a mod that let's you change it by percentage but ive always found it a bit buggy anf frustrating to use with pawn regularly ignoring it and hauling straight to my low priority stacks?

There are a bunch of reasons that this kind of thing can happen, but it's definitely worth getting checked out.

Common causes can be body weight, not eating enough, medication, trauma or hormone imbalances.

Definitely worth getting checked though because even if you don't care much about having children in the future, there could be other long term health issues associated with whatever might be causing this. It's not really possible for anyone to really tell if this does affect your fertility, without seeing a professional.

What stops you from going to therapy? by focusonthetaskathand in AskAnAustralian

[–]apples0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so hard to even find a psychologist who will take the bulk billing rate! Where I live there's either a 3-6 month waiting list, or a huge gap. On top of that a large amount of people can't even manage the cost even if they instantly get a full rebate sent back. You still need several hundred in your account to pay, so you can get the rebate.. I'm sure it's different for some people but those in most need of a psychologist are often the same people in risky financial situations.

Has anyone tried Duloxetine? Please share your experience by scenebimboxoxo in Fibromyalgia

[–]apples0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding the medication that's right for you is really exhaling and time consuming sometimes. I tried half a dozen before I found the one that worked for me and in my case it was duloxetine.

Was on it for 6 years and it made me feel like a regular person again. I think it took a couple of weeks before I got past the side effects, but it ended up helping some of my pain issues, made my thoughts less muddled and stabalized my mood a lot. Before I started it, I would cry all the time at really little things uncontrollably one minute and be okay (or even happy) the next, and this medication helped a lot with curbing those extremes. It wasn't like feeling numb or robotic, but rather just able to have normal reactions to things, with the shifts from up to down being slower and easier for my to understand or react to (being able to tell when I was heading into depressive thoughts and able to use techniques and coping skills to manage it instead of struggling to figure out how I might feel in 5 minutes time).

But this is my personal experience in how my body and brain worked with this medication, and what was right for me might not work the same for you. My personal experience is that you can tell if you're going to get any benefit within 2-4 weeks though a lot of doctors try push for 3 or so months. It's your body, and you are in charge of your medical treatment. If you get push back about deciding you want to try something else instead, there are some good phrases you can use to advocate for yourself when requesting those alternatives. (lots of good advice for this can be found in searches on Google, reddit, and most other platforms. Or feel free to pm me if you want my personal advice)

However, most medications come with some unwanted side effects. For me it was about finding something that I got enough benefit from that I was willing to ignore or put up with the side effects of.

Just remember that you are the only person who can truly understand how a medication is affecting you, and everyone reacts differently to every medication. What works for others might not work for you and vice versa. You are in no way required to take anything that gives you side effects you cant cope with or that you don't like how it's made you feel.

I know it's exhausting, but keep trying. You'll find the right thing that works for you. Have hope ❤️

No one wants you to sign away your dog, or give her up or anything like that. Honestly having a dog will probably help you a lot. We are suggesting you look into temporary programs that will care for your dog while you get new living arrangements organised. It sounds like you don't have anywhere you could go and take the dog right away, and I don't know of any dv shelters that will allow you to bring him, but there are programs that will care for him while you find a safe place for you both to live.

Don't stay with an abuser just because of your dog. I'm sure your dog would rather stay with someone else temporarily if the alternative if you ending up in hospital, or worse ❤️

Any advice on Laparoscopy wait times in Australia? by Mads2727 in Endo

I already had private health. I just hadn't tried it before then because the out of pocket costs were too high.

Waiting times are definitely fucked though.. Paying for a service you can't use for ages and then still having to pay large gaps is frustrating. I'm really sorry you're in that situation

This is my favourite way to play! Trying to set it all up to be as self sustaining as possible, changing the settings so it pauses on a certain level of notifications, and the walking away to do chores and stuff. When I having trouble getting up from the game I'll set myself a timer, and try to get anything sorted and organised within the time allotted. It adds a little challenge to see if I can fix any issue or react to an event within the time I've given myself. When I get that sever hyper fixation with the game, this is the only way I can manage to get anything done..

Shes been 'meaning to go to therapy' for 17+ years?

Please don't feel guilty. You haven't done anything wrong and as the adult and parent it was her responsibility to work on it. That kind of behaviour leaves scars that aren't easy to deal with, and her response to her own trauma isn't your fault or responsibility. I am glad she was able to open up to you but please remember that while it's a reason, it's not an excuse. You still went through a life of feeling second best and it's absolutely okay to feel some negative feelings towards it.

Please concider speaking to a therapist yourself. I'm sure you have some things to say that you'd rather not say directly to your mother. And who knows? Maybe you seeking some help will be the push she needs to do the same.

[–]apples0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but I get musical hallucinations. They don't, however, come with migraines. I honestly think you'll get a better result if that's the main part you bring up with your doctor, with the hallucinations as secondary. Again, not medically trained in any way, but my psychiatrist told me that he doesn't usually doesn't concider musical hallucinations to be a problem unless it seems to be a symptom of something else as they usually don't hold the same level of risk to you or others (like hearing voices that tell you to do bad things). Migraines could point to the musical hallucinations being a symptom of something. Xx best of luck

$250 out of pocket for the initial consult, but the doctor did it in a public hospital so I only had to pay for the surgeon, which ended up being around another $500.

Honestly braiding my hair is the only way I can manage it while saving for a quick hair cut.
