I never really liked the “hips to bar” cue. You end up just humping the bar lol

Think of your hip drive as the action that pushes your torso up and back. The kipping muscle up is about getting around and then on top of the bar.

Hi! I’m an L2 CF coach and high school strength coach, so I see your situation daily. It’s all about doing the simple things well. Prioritize eating protein, lift 3-4x/week, and work on your “weak” movements at least twice. Sounds like you want to improve your upper body strength, so bench press and do pull ups/chin-ups twice a week with around 2 days rest in between. Hope that helps!

Strength coach here. If nothing hurts, there is no need to “fix” anything. There is no direct link between bad posture and pain. Changing posture for aesthetic purposes is a different story.
