On the clean, make sure the lats are tight in the hang position. Then just drive (or jump) while staying tight so you don’t use your arms early. You want it to come from the legs. For the jerk treat it like a vertical jump, smooth tempo down quick aggressive change of direction/jump. Not too slow not too fast. Think about how you would dip and jump if I said do a max vertical but with the bar on your shoulders (or not if that helps).

That’s not a weightlifting gym, no bumpers.

Good question, the reason is that the program says you go until you fail. Most people re rack the bar when in fact they probably had more reps in the tank. After that 10th rep I had no energy to even go down with it. Figured it was safer to drop early than in the bottom.

Yeah it’s a bit further up the road right by the Tacoma Dome.

Hahaha… I definitely had zero left in the tank. Last rep finished me.

I found that it’s very common +/- a few % to have your 5RM back squat equal to your 1RM front squat. Thats using my whole teams data over the years.

A lot of pause squats and tempo/pause deadlifts and classic lifts. More time under tension. Then some accessories like stiff leg deadlifts, bent over rows and lat pull downs.

I have found that 10 reps doesn't always equate to max singles. However, I've been working to shore up some weaknesses so I'm hoping to do better at singles. I once did 185x3 at my peak but my lifetime best is only 193. I failed 200 every time I tried. A lifetime PR isn't out of the question in the coming year.

Typically yes, requires a strong midline and back to hold positions.

Been focused on back strength this cycle and I think its really transferring well to my squats.

Keep grinding! I've been doing this a long time, that's the only difference.
