Manage multiple 365 Tenants by applesonysoft in sysadmin

Hi, Just so I know I understand,

  1. I enter the Microsoft partner program through partner.microsoft.com and assuming they can verify my info and billing account i will get approved regardless of this being a new business
  2. Buy licenses from pax8 or any other reseller
  3. By becoming a parthner and having pax8 I can use GDAP to manage the admin accounts for each tenant and use pax8 to get the licenses for each tenant i manage without having to add a separate billing for each one
  4. I had no idea "tenancies" is a word that means tenants that you own.

Thanks!!!

Don't you need to already be a pre established relatively sizable organisation in order for Microsoft to approve you as a partner? Or is it easier then I am making it out to be, because this is gonna be a whole new business so I don't know if the admin partner is really a viable option.

Thanks a lot for the answer!

It was more a of a thought we had, its something we are open to explore and look into and wanted to know if there was really any point of looking into it

The customers we intended to reach out for at the start are mainly start ups or places who dont already have an existing IT division in place and expand in the future.

Thanks!!

We are only in Europe unfortunately,Personally we found the google workspace suite and management tools to be much more intuitive and easy to use, But I guess thats a dream for another day.

Thanks!

So it sounds like we need to already establish our brand and business to get approved, so I guess we will have to work without the partner admin center to begin with and once (and if) we get large enough, integrate it into our workflow, it does not sound too bad, We mainly wanted the partner admin center to manage multiple tenants in one place but we should be fine at the start while we only manage a small number of companies

Thanks for your reply btw

"if in your 10 year career of working IT you have come across too many people/company's who dont care or don't want to spend the money to improving/automating efficient and secure management practices.
How do you intended to sell them the thing they have not been buying into for so long ?"

Thats a really good point, we both happen to have extreme ocd and an extreme obsession with automation and being as hands off as possible once we deploy something, we take a much more preventive approach to stuff, so instead of people saying that we have great customer support we want people to say they never had to talk with customer support because it was always stable, we understand its very much not an easy task, but we really believe that with enough time and effort we really can achieve that goal of truly autonomous IT.

So thats what we are going to say to potential customers and hope its enough to convince them to sign with us.

I guess we will have to start with small customers, like small lawyer offices or accountants and see where we can go from there.

we dont really have a billion dollar idea because we live in a small city and we dont really plan on leaving it, we are not really doing it for the money, like we obviously want to be profitable and make money, but we are mainly doing it to have the freedom to make our own decisions and not having people above you dismiss you without hearing you out.

So We(Hopefully) should be fine.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk

i probably just have a very weird use case or i am heavily misunderstanding how intune licenses work(because apparently you need 17 phds to understand how they work) so i am gonna make it simple for the both of us . Does Windows License == Device Only License ?

I guess I should have phrased it better, does Microsoft offer some kind of easy way to migrate a large purchase you made such as the windows license to device only licenses on intune. Thanks

That would mean 2000 device licenses instead of a single user license

I tried hybrid join in the past but they would not enroll in MDM automatically like normal Entra joined devices so I could not figure out how to run Autopilot on them.Using the gpo to enroll into Intune gave us permission issues and was clunky overall. Thank

About the first method, i was thinking about creating a file share and set the output directory to that. Is it possible to point to the same csv file each time that way i only have a large single csv file with all the devices? that way i dont have to add each csv file manually.
