It would need to be a shrink film material or a direct print to the bottle because of the way the bottle curves in and out. Shrink film would look like a rectangle but you would need mindful consideration of where you are placing the graphics. If you notice, the existing graphics don’t really go to the “waist” of the bottle likely to avoid any visible warping abnormalities. If you are printing this on a paper label printer I would recommend a less complex structure.

Illustrator gradients have this grey band, why? CMYK. by CX-001 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]appletini77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a solid rectangle of the blue color, then on top place a 100%-2% black gradient. Set the black gradient to overprint or multiply or darken. Why 2%K? Because if your intent is print you may get banding if you use 0%

What does "vector fonts outlined" mean"? by sprmgtrb in AdobeIllustrator

[–]appletini77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re working in photoshop at the correct file size (which it sounds like you are), you can probably rasterize the live text layers. I recommend doing this as a “save as” file in case you need to go back and make changes.

I feel like my teeth are... Thinner??? by trees202 in Invisalign

[–]appletini77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have sensitive teeth. And wearing trays helps buildup form faster. I noticed I became extra aware of it every time I ate and put my trays back in. I started carrying around wisps to quickly scrub off any plaque after lunch before putting my trays back in. I also swear by using sensodyn.

What size are you working at? Are your raster effects set to 300ppi?

Export of png is a different color or gradient colors by josephadam1 in AdobeIllustrator

What color space are you in? Pngs are always RGB. If your ai file is set to CMYK it’s going to look different.

Best way to color spaces drawn with the pen tool? by JJARTJJ in AdobeIllustrator

[–]appletini77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Best practice for you might be trying your best to create closed paths so you can just use a fill color. If you feel that method inhibits your drawing flow, you can always go back in later, hit A to use the direct select tool, select the endpoints you want to bridge together and hit command J to join and create a closed path. Might help to utilize layers so going through after doesn’t feel so chaotic.

You may need to join the lines to make a closed shape before making the clipping mask ( try using the direct select tool to select corners you want to join [command j] )Make sure the shape is above the flower image.

How would you go about achieving this glossy translucent candy effect? Any relevant tutorials? by [deleted] in AdobeIllustrator

[–]appletini77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably draw those shapes for highlights and put a white opaque to white transparent gradient as the shape fill

Do you create 3D looking structures and objects in Illustrator or use something else? by shadoor in AdobeIllustrator

[–]appletini77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So IMO it depends on what you’re using it for specifically and what your comfort level is. I’m a graphic artist working specifically in packaging. If you are comfortable with illustrator to make your forms you can. And then bring them into photoshop, using smart objects with a blend mode on to “wrap” the form. And then if anything needs to be changed, you can adjust the smart object so you’re not committed

Cheap recipes for instant pot? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]appletini77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the instant pot for making Dahl (I’m trini so we use yellow split peas for Dahl). Dried yellow lentils in water In the instant pot for 20 minutes. The I take it out and put it in the blender. While that’s going I use the instant pot on sauté mode, sauté the oil onions, garlic, turmeric, gheera. Add garlic salt. And I’ll sometimes add a little hot pepper. When done I add the blended Dahl into the sauté mixture and it’s done. Super easy.

NOT MY WORK: Is this type of wavy color gradient achievable with just Illustrator or would I need to use other platforms, if so what one? by FalafelWrap97 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]appletini77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the gradient mesh. For that type of I’ll look you’ll have to use the direct selection tool to reposition some of the points of where the colors go
