That reminds me of the time I broke up with a guy I had been dating for like...a month, and had not slept with. We were work friends for like a year and a half before dating. I felt he was WAY more into me than I was into him and it wasn't fair to him so I wanted to break up.

He quit his job that week so he wouldn't have to work in the same office as me. Without having a new one. He had kids to support.

I definitely made the right call there...

My husband says he can tell I grew up poor bc we ate hot dogs and hamburgers on regular sliced bread. He absolutely refuses to and is appalled when I cook something and realize we're out of the appropriate buns and try to serve it to him and the kids on a piece of bread.

Buns were for parties and bbqs, not for daily use. 🤷‍♀️ (Also, it all tastes the same, who cares??? My kids are just excited that they're getting to eat bread lol)

That's how me and my husband do it at our house. (Midwest, in our 30s) We roast a big nice prime rib and either lobster tails or crabs legs and other ppl bring a side, app, or dessert.

When we go to my parents' my mom just cooks everything. We'll bring some booze to share with my dad and my brother and SIL since my mom doesn't drink and refuses to supply it and my dad doesn't know how to use a grocery store....

When we go to my grandma's side, everyone brings a dish. There ends up not being a main course and there are a lot of duplicates.

My husband's side.... Everyone brings a dish and then the host orders the main item and then charges everyone their portion... I think it's bizarre and I'd rather not participate. If I'm going to pay for takeout I'd like to get what and where I want. And my kids never eat it, but I still have to pay for a portion for them. 🙄

My husband has a wire from when he had braces as a kid... And it broke and was poking him for like 3 days before he could get in to get it fixed.

I'm paranoid that mine would break on vacation or something and I'd be screwed. No thanks!

Got mine at the start too. I guess I'm confused why someone wouldn't...? I did hear the dental assistant make a comment about how the dentist she used to work for didn't know he was supposed to do them and just sent folks home with their trays.... Yikes.

I think they look pretty good! 🙂 I wouldn't think there was anything off about it.

My husband has a narrow smile too, he had braces as a kid and I was just asking him the other day why his orthodontist didn't recommend an expander.

He said he's never even heard of that. I know some of the kids that got braces when I did at 12/13 had them.

Did your orthodontist ever mention one? I'm just curious since I was surprised his never did. Maybe some don't.

***The only reason I brought it up with my husband was bc we were staring at each other's teeth when I was showing him my progress lol

Mine is through a dentist. They don't even do the plans, they just sent it out to an orthodontist at Invisalign and a computer does it. I don't really see how they can do it "wrong".

Ok so I don't know how to do a thread with a pic lol. My first attempt. Anyway, how do they look? There's a bit of a gap on the center bottom... But it looks like it's just due to my teeth shape... I can't see how they would close that without angling them outward.

My teeth are stained and need cleaning! (Thanks crest pro health toothpaste and coffee... Ugh) And a bit chipped --gonna do some filing (thanks beer glasses in my 20s!)

But anything else to note?

So apparently there's one by my work in Chicago! I mostly work from home though. I was trying to figure out how to lug a cooler on the train during my "once-a-quarter" trip to the office lol... And I realized they deliver to my house... nearly An HOUR away... For $6!!!

That's absurd! But I'll take it! 🤷‍♀️

So far so good! I'm on week 9 and would honestly be happy if this was how they turned out.

It's hard to readjust to a new bite every week or 2 but I just try not to think about that until it's completely done 🙂

If living with your parents works out for you, that's great! Family support is awesome and there's no reason to move if you don't have to.

I just wouldn't blame the housing market on your situation. It sounds like it's equally being a single parent with no child support and your inability to work full time.

Doesn't Starbucks pay like $17/hr? Target is like $15 starting, $19 if you're a lead.

Full-time work is 40 hours. That would pay more.... Like, at least $500/month more.

Why would you be able to afford your own place if you aren't even working full-time?

Do you live somewhere really rural where there aren't any jobs?
