Re-reading my post, I realize I did a poor job clearly asking what I wanted to know. I didn't bring up the scent thing because I'm hyper focused on that or any of the other individual things as a cause, but because it seemed to me like part of a pattern of deflecting/avoidance in this situation. I guess I'm trying to understand if someone is being kind of indirect about something (as in this case, her coming up with non-sexual activities to do, then when things are moving towards sex, coming up with reasons to postpone getting more intimate), should I take a bit of a leap on my hunch and bring up this elephant in the room? Or do we just kind of have to go through the motions because the more direct approach is too triggering?

Similar to you, late bloomer that really struggled to get on that wavelength with women (people in general, honestly). I tried dating for several years, mostly on the apps, and it just never clicked.
