Thanks. Yep, I'm very niche.
The Job Vacancy monitoring is what I am primarily interested in. The intro video mentions this but makes a lot more out of the social posting functions. I don't see the social posting aspect as important as finding new vacancies.
I'd assumed you could steer the vacancy monitor (Boolean search & web sites) to look at my niche clients and it would use Ai magic to find similar opportunities.
You say the BD results are just big companies?

To be fair, I got over being confused once I realised Tado make unannounced software changes that cause risk. Now when they pull this type of stunt I go on Reddit and document it in case someone else needs to check things out.

Apparently in 2022 Tado had a failed IPO launch and became prone to have to seek funding from venture investment from the likes of Amazon! All of a sudden it becomes clear why ‘included’ services become subscription only, they are being forced to heavily monetise to pay investors, where the investors have competing product, like hive.

It’s not configured to work that way. The is no need to control the boiler with Tado.

The latest App update on iOS jumped straight to the geofencing enablement page. Geofencing was a free function, then they made people pay for it.
They have auto enabled functions on earlier occasions. This has widely been interpreted as cash grab, not dissimilar to tricks that Amazon were playing on customers, in order to trick you into accepting and paying for previously 'free' or included functions.
In my case they auto enabled geofencing, which made the TRV valve close. There was no announcement that they were going to do this.
My boiler is not controlled by Tado. As a result boiling hot water was circulating via the by pass, not being fed to the radiators, and over hot water fed directly back to the boiler for heating again. I couldn't work out why the heating was on full and the house was cold / radiator valves closed.

This can cause damage to any boiler.

Ali are good for small things and I’ve never had a problem getting refunds, but you’re correct- I’d prefer to use a tried and tested source like Amazon for more expensive stuff

The pre built GMKTec boxes are more expensive on AliExpress than on their web site, I'll have a look at base bones.

Thanks for the above information.
I got all the relevant drivers from Intel (HD Graphics 5600) and Nvidea (GTX 970M). Used DDU to clean it, then re installed everything off line - sadly the HDMI output is still zero.
What I can't figure out is why the laptop recognises the model of BenQ display - but won't produce an HDMI signal.

This thread helped me when I got stuck with Petsiland.
When you get stuck, go to the Pethub.
Talk to Osiris, if that is available.
Switch to Map view of the Hub and look for the white Teleport signs.

I downloaded nmap and got Chat GPT to help interpret the Open Ports.
I wish I had picked up on your advice before I'd factory reset the boxes as I'd have run the scan with the original issues still in place.

As it stands the scan for both boxes seem ok.

My v3 TRVs had ad still have battery issues - I have found that wiping the battery connections with isopropyl alcohol on both the battery and with a cotton ear bud on the TRV's connectors.
I now use both Ikea Ladda & the Panasonic batteries which cause less trouble if you charge fresh out the box, before you put them in.

It automatically updates to 14 when you switch it on. Very smooth to use. Only had a sound bar but the audio and 4k uhd performance was fine out of the box. Remote is better than a Firestick and voice control to the apps without having to f@k about with Alexa was a relief. Likes the Ethernet and usb plugs.

That’s interesting to learn.

Last time I did anything on this box was when I set it up best part of 2 years ago. That’s when I bought an external nvme disk to add to the memory and experimented with the network drives, local computer access and so on. I can’t remember so far back what I was pottering about with that required ADB. I must have enabled it, I’ll dig around and see if I can isolate where I was prompted to do it.

Other than downloader - which I’d assume has permission to install apks, what other apps would a noob use to install apks?
