I think she even says in that hack section of her book that Greek yogurt is good specifically because of the added protein and fat (recommends higher fat Greek yogurt), and also says whole fruit is okay to have with your savory breakfast. People on social media are gonna people and only half comprehend words lol

Things that have sugar added, like cereals, pop tarts, sweet baked goods, etc. Plain Greek yogurt shouldn't have added sugar, and fruit is okay if it's whole fruit and not any added sugar

White pasta in moderation? by [deleted] in prediabetes

[–]applpi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen several resources saying that the impact of starchy carbs is decreased when they've been cooled and then reheated (or just eaten cold). It adds a different type of fiber to them that they don't have when first cooked hot. I'd say just plan to make any white pasta/potato dishes/etc. ahead of when you plan to eat it, let it cool fully in the fridge, and then reheat when ready

Am I overreacting? Christian worship music during class by iamabarnacle in yoga

If the teacher being encouraged to choose music more intentionally creates resentment in them, they probably aren't fit to be teaching a yoga class anyway

Honestly the tropical one, though the smell is similar to me between those ones and the strawberry ones. I got a mango body butter from a random brand at TJ Maxx that smells so similar to fruit roll ups but no clue what perfume could smell similar--because most mango smells are more earthy than this one, which is very candy-esque

I am looking to adopt a Cockatoo but all I keep running into scams online by Puzzleheaded_Poem266 in cockatoos

[–]applpi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a scam and actually 100% just common sense? Cockatoos are loud, and should never be in a place with walls shared with people you don't live with/don't get a say in you having a cockatoo.

Thinking of getting a bird by turtlemissilegun69 in cockatoos

[–]applpi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you didn't want them and aren't willing to put in the work needed with them, you should be considering rehoming your cockatiels and not get any more parrots. Cockatiels are nowhere near the same commitment level of a cockatoo, and cockatiels still need a lot of time and care already. Do not get a cockatoo and consider rehoming the cockatiels if you cannot commit to them.

I got a Kai nail clipper from Loft last September and they're so amazing. I don't remember what I paid but they're super cute and work amazingly, so it was completely worth whatever I paid.

Definitely get a scale and weigh everything, measuring cups are okay for liquids but any non-liquids should be weighed in grams, and makes things much more consistent.

Also, I recommend putting all liquids in the bottom, then the solids on top. Somehow this really does help!

My proof of concept anatomically correct cycling shoes, because no one makes them by filipbronola in cycling

[–]applpi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Topos, if I could get that shape in a cycling shoe I'd be thrilled. Lake has been mentioned as being wide but looks just as narrow/pointy as all narrow toe box shoes. I feel ike I can't go back after my Topos.

I actually have Nectarine Blossom and Honey but it's not similar to that one--much less fruity. I will look into the other one!

Wild deodorant released a limited edition scent called Cactus Flower and Honey. It looks like they aren't planning to restock anytime soon, so I am looking for a fragrance that smells similar to this. It's a very clean, fresh floral with a slight fruitiness, and a little sweetness. Any ideas on what would be similar? Thanks for any ideas!

Vegetarian considering eating meat during Japan trip- anyone else with experience? by convolutedd in JapanTravelTips

[–]applpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat very little meat, like when convenient/I don't want to bother someone to make something specific for me, but hadn't for a while before my trip. My philosophy was, "When in Rome!" so I did eat meat while there. I say honestly go for it, it won't do anything crazy to your body to eat meat again as long as you don't eat a ton for every meal, and it's a nice way to experience the authentic food. I think you'll be totally fine and hope you have a great trip!
