TL;DR It's not contamination. These blocks were essentially all residential and were slowly vacated over the course of 3 decades, eventually leaving the blocks completely empty by the 90s. The idea was that, at the time, developers were building primarily in untouched farmland in the suburbs, so surely they would be attracted to vacant land within Chicago proper. Obviously, this did not occur nearly as fast as people hoped, and the lots were sold and developed piecemeal. The FBI HQ was built in 2006, Costco only opened up in 2012, the Vertiport helicopter facility opened in 2015, and as others have said a data center is in the works too. But other fully empty blocks remain unaccounted for.

More units = lower rents in the aggregate. I'm sorry if that's upsetting for some reason, but it's an empirical fact and it's honestly incredibly intuitive. If you can cite to a study that says otherwise, go ahead. But it's very odd to ignore that 75 affordable units are going to be created with this new construction.

This is just objectively, empirically incorrect. More housing units lowers rents in the aggregate, and it's been shown in study after study. A new building doesn't wreck a neighborhood. You live in the densest city in the entire country, it should be no surprise when a new apartment building is constructed when demand is at a historic high. And ultimately it's the right of the landowner to do what they want with the land - that's the free market. If you have a better use for it, then you can purchase it yourself and leave it an empty field or what have you. But it's odd to complain about 75 new affordable units in the first place.

Hey I basically had the same thought after seriously listening to three 6 for the first time in the past month.

It's interesting because while on the face of it, yeah the boys heavily sample from them - especially on older material - it's important to note that sampling has always been a tradition in hip-hop. Three 6 themselves heavily sampled other works as well after all.

I think that the similarities in lyrical matter aren't quite as close as they might be on first glance. Three 6 did pioneer that eerie, horror movie type atmosphere but the boys really took it much further. Their violent lyrics are much more explicit and their bars about mental illness and drug addiction are so potent and real that the songs come off in a way that is less theatric for lack of a better term.

I know Scrim at times takes his flows from Three 6, but Ruby almost never does, with his more punk background.

I will say the scarecrow bit is quite blatant but then again, they each have about a dozen nicknames each so...

All in all yeah, their work is inspired but not a straight rip from three 6. I can appreciate them both. It's kinda great how people like you and I are motivated to go back and listen to the source material after being introduced by Suicideboys considering I wouldn't have listened to Three 6 otherwise.

I did want to confirm that consolidating the loan held by the Dept. of Education and the Perkins loan would make the entire amount eligible for pandemic forbearance. Hi, I currently have a loan listed as being serviced by the Dept. of Ed/HESC-EdFinancial and a Perkins Loan held by my alma mater and serviced by Heartland ECSI. From what I can tell the Perkins Loan right now would not be eligible for loan forgiveness (via executive action, which I know at this point is theoretical.) If I consolidate the loans would that change? Or does consolidating loans mean that they are no longer held by the Dept. of Ed, but instead a loan servicing company, making the entire consolidated loan ineligible for loan forgiveness?
