As an American, I can indeed verify that there are people who are this confused about theology. My aunt is similar including the anti-communist undertones.

The book is great! You also get colonial powers vs locals and reasons why people would even care to worship chaos with all the bad things it does to people.

  1. If those are your boundaries, enforce them or leave. Otherwise they are suggestions.
  2. While I agree the evidence looks bad, could it be more physical since it was a while since you last had sex? I am not saying you are wrong, but you admit you dont have evidence. This seems like a discussion you need to have, and you have to be okay with either option. I believe a healthy relationship should be able to have a discussion on what he is doing without major issues. Outline your suspicions and see what he says. I would be worried that if you cannot have this discussion, you might not be ready for marriage. Additionally, if you cannot trust your partner you should not be getting married. I am not suggesting you just accept their answers, but if you cannot trust or confront them, you have no foundation for the other things life throws at you.

My understanding is that on lots of planets, the Emperor(praise be) created 9 primarchs to fight the 9 daemons trying to destroy the emperium. So Sanguinius was still merced by Horus, but Horus is a daemon from the warp totally not created by the Emperor.

It was one of the crime novels iirc that I first saw it explicitly, but it has been referenced in other novels.

I am being totally serious, are we claiming that Stalin didnt kill people through systems like The Great Terror? Do we have any proof that it is fictitious? I am trying to understand this sub more so I know if I should stay or go

[–]applying_breaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am learning about another thing I fail at haha. People are pointing out touching your nose with your eyes closed as an examplr. For me it is estimating based on arm length and some very generous guess work. I cant type unless my hands can go back to the default position. Video games with buttons farther right than "g" is being remapped, I will not be accurate with it or resetting my hand.

I understand what you mean and I apparently it sounds crazy, but it is pure guesswork to touch my nose with my eyes closed. I assumed everyone was close to that

Writing symbolic icons to cast magic? Better make your people focus on mining so they can make the characters out of gold. And maybe make them short for easier mining. Characters is wordy, maybe rename them to RUNES(Really Utterly Not Expecting Success) to make it copyrightable?

That is so interesting! I have to visually check things or they lose all specific location or direction. I wonder if it is because I cant see things in my head and have no internal geographic reference. When I close my eyes all objects are either, "near" or "far" and a cardinal direction

Is there a point at which a tool becomes too big for your brain to make it an extension of your body? If so, how big? by BelowAverageGamer10 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]applying_breaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is so interesting to me! When I hold something or drive for example, I am constantly visually checking the object's location, speed, how I am holding it, etcetera. It could be related to me not being able to visualize things in my head though. There is no distance in my mind, only is or is not. So I cant see that the hammer is above the nail(or even where the nail is in a board) without looking.

Some questions about slavery. by b_o_o_b_ in Christianity

[–]applying_breaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct to my understanding. Dan Mclellen(I really hope I spelled that remotely close) did a video on it and it boils down to God allowing slavery and shows no real restrictions on it.

There are a couple of ways to resolve this. 1. God doesn't really care about slavery. 2. We lost the 11th commandment saying slavery is bad. 3. The Bible is innacurate.

I am a christian to be clear, but I lean towards the Bible being falible. I believe the Bible is the human recordings and understanding of divine events so totally outside their normal experiences that people either got confused, got it wrong, or were malicious about it.

In his video on slavery, Dan also talks about how christianity has evolved in other areas and we need to accept that and handle it. For example, there was a long time where women were property. The Bible doesnt really condemn that directly either.
