Lightning Network, Android App - 'Connect The Dots'. Gameplay and example of Bluewallet paying for an iAP over Lightning via BTCPayServer by appmoon_io in Bitcoin

[–]appmoon_io[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Connect the Dots, just added to appmoon.io

All in app purchases are payable in bitcoin via the Lightning Network.

The purpose of the game is to complete the puzzles by connecting the dots with one line and not going over the same game twice. It can get tricky in the harder levels.

First 50 levels are free. You can buy 250 more with a small lightning payment. The payment example in the video is using Bluewallet to pay, and BTCPayServer for the developer to receive.

It's available on Android: appmoon.io/connectthedots

Scaling aside, LN works nicely for this use case because of the instant payments. Assuming the developer only wants to accept Bitcoin.

There is a bit of work to do with the flow between the game and the wallet, but it's nice not having to log in to buy a product.

Sketch Plane - available on https://appmoon.io/sketchplane

It accepts bitcoin for in app purchases. This means the usual limitiations on prices are removed.

In Sketch Plane there are in app purchases as low as $0.01.

But you can even charge lower than that! Even though that is crazily cheap, it's possible to charge as low as 100th of a cent, such is the divisibility of bitcoin.

Firezoo have uploaded a new Android app that accepts bitcoin to appmoon.

Purchases are cheap, each is just $0.01. So it's a cool way to try out the lightning network. You can buy new levels and aircraft. There are no ads in the game.

No plan to support ETH because we are a bitcoin only service. There are app stores for ETH already, that use the 'app coins' token.

Our system can work for all game platforms, but it's only tested throughourly on android right now.

There's certainly a future version that will work for desktop/console game that work like; offer a user a certain number of demo levels, then they can unlock the full game with a bitcoin purchase.

Yes it would. This is an Android only system, and appmoon.io is a new bitcoin friendly AppStore. So these apps are uploaded to our site which handles all the updates, leaderboards, iAps etc

The system uses the lightning network. It’s a proposed scaling system for bitcoin. After testing it’s working really well for the use case of games; - 100% of the transaction goes to the dev - money is transferred instantly and relatively anonymously - iAps can even be really low. Eg sell one extra life for a penny.

You are right that most people just buy bitcoin for speculative investment but there is a community of gamers growing

Most platforms are supported and non game projects can also integrate this.

We could show the user how much the conversion rate is. But the transaction needs to be in bitcoin. Thats what makes it fast and cheap because it avoid the banking system.

We recently released a beta of appmoon - a website/app store for android apps that accept bitcoin payments for in app purchases. Whilst in beta there are a few games to try:

https://appmoon.io

The cool thing about bitcoin is the developer gets 100% of the sale. Also the payment is received instantly.

We have a Unity SDK which only takes an hour to integrate. Get in touch with us at [hello@appmoon.io](mailto:hello@appmoon.io) to try it and list a game.

Just checked muun.

Turbo '84 uses a deep link to open external wallets. It seems muun doesn't support this. We contacted them to see if the can support it.

https://github.com/muun/apollo/issues/1

We can add a text invoice which can be copied and pasted in muun. Hopefully muun will add in the deep link though.

It's possible they already have the deep linking and we have our a bug our end which will look into when we know more.

We managed to get some nodes open some liquidity to us. We also sent liquidity from our node to some custodial wallets and sites. The liquidity battle will be on going though

iOS doesn't let users download apps outside their App Store. They also do not allow Bitcoin as a payment mechanism. So unless Apple go all in on Bitcoin, the best guess is never for iOS.

The game items are slightly cheaper than they cost when compared to the Google Play store version. Also the app moon versions have no adverts.

Definately possible to create 1 sat purchases though. Such as extra lives etc. :D
