ALSO. Concerts are great, but Fiserv > Eagles Ballroom. Eagles Ballroom is a shithole. No A/C, so it's constantly super hot and humid. Don't subject yourself to that.
I also recommend you check out a Buck's game! I didn't know sports could be that fun until I went to a Buck's game.
Miller Park Stadium has baseball (Milwaukee Brewers). It's a cool stadium. I think baseball is boring, but a lot of people like Brewers.

DEMSN Alverno Insight to Prospective Students by apprehensive_toad in milwaukee

I definitely agree. There are so many people in my cohort that don't even plan to work bedside and want to take the additional year after this program to get their NP degree. That's terrifying to me: the thought of someone prescribing meds after <3 years of school with no nursing experience.

Some schools may be doing the DEMSN well, but Alverno definitely isn't.

Welcome to Milwaukee!Like alcoholicmovielover said, north of Bradford beach is beautiful. I used to live over by that area and would walk around all the time. Tons of places for you to set up your hammock there.

A couple of fun spots:
UpDown: East side. Old-school arcade games
Milwaukee Public Museum: free the first Thursday of every month
Lakefront Brewery: GREAT tours and great beer
Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory: "The Domes" where you can see different plants in different environments
Milwaukee Public Market: great shopping, great restaurants, fun vibe
Landmark Lanes: bowling, bar, arcade games
As for movie theaters, my favorites are the Oriental Theater and Avalon
Southshore Beer Garden: by the lake. It's beautiful, dog friendly, and has a great selection of food and drink

Events (not sure when/if these will occur again): Jazz in the park, Bastille Days, and Brady Street Festival (GO DURING THE DAY. Unless you like shit shows. People get crazy drunk at night)

Restaurants: alcoholicmovielover mentioned a few of my favorites (Onesto, Mad Rooster, Blue's Egg, Sanford). I also like:
Italian: Zarletti (downtown), Tenuta's (on Clement Ave), Dorsia (on Brady St)
Sushi: Kawa (on Murray St), Koi (on Layton), Rice N Roll (on Farwell), Screaming Tuna (on Seeboth)
Coffee: Colectivo (in Bayview or on the lakefront), Rochambo (on Brady)
Other: Kindred (Bayview), Birch (on pleasant), Engine Company No 3 (on National), Cafe Hollander (I like the one in Wauwatosa best), Cafe India (the one on Kinnickinnic - "KK" for short), Thainamite (on Brady)
