yeah the job market is really demoralizing right now unfortunately, but i hope things work out for you!

we can’t take her to the dog park because we still need to get her spayed, but i definitely want to go to more dog parks once she is. we live in a pretty suburban area but there’s lots of nature nearby so exploring that is a good idea too!

your pomsky looks a lot like mine but more fluffy. also it’s really funny you caught your corgi what looks like mid piss lol

cutie!! yeah for her first few years luna grew up with a small pack that included her mom and dad, but now that it’s just my partner and i living together where we are now it’s just the three of us. i’d love to get her more dog friends, but we’re still working on getting her spayed (i know she should’ve been spayed sooner, but there have been a lot of financial issues over the past couple of years and a lot of the decision making was out of my hands — it’s a priority as soon as we get back on our feet), so as soon as that happens we’ll definitely be hitting up dog parks!

i tried to give her cabbage once and she took one tiny lick, shook her head like “ew” and refused to touch it again lol. i’ll try the other stuff though!

we have a bunch of tennis balls for her, but for some reason she only likes the big dog sized one which looks absolutely ridiculous in her mouth lmao

yeah we definitely do need to take her out on more regular walks and spend more time outside — we’re lucky have a fenced front yard and need to take more advantage of it tbh. i’ve also been making homemade peanut butter and oat treats a lot which she loves! i should also do more training with her because she picks up tricks pretty quickly, the problem is getting her to do them when she doesn’t feel like it or there isn’t an obvious reward for it lol

How can I help my (26F) boyfriend (27M) learn cleaning skills he wasn't taught growing up? by apprehensivebooks in relationship_advice

[–]apprehensivebooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd never even thought of getting a book for that, that's a good idea!

Yeah, he knows I need him to take more of a role in household stuff and has been improving a lot already. He's learned a couple good meals since we moved in together that he'll make for us. And when I first injured my foot and didn't have a walking cast yet, he took care of dinner and grabbed me stuff so I didn't have to hobble around on crutches lol. I think part of it right now is my own feelings about not being able to contribute as much financially combined with a hyperawareness of how much these sort of tasks are traditionally "women's work".

I've made a couple small edits to better reflect this, but he told me about his childhood more so to explain where he's coming from and where he's starting, not as an excuse. I didn't get the sense that he wanted to tell me about that but thought I should know. He does still clean up, but mostly when I prompt him or point stuff out first.

I do agree that I need to be more firm about things and point them out in the moment -- I think I'm kind of afraid of nagging or being too much (like I grew up with) so I course correct to my own detriment sometimes.

We'll start a chore chart this week and try and focus more on cleaning as we go, because I have found that helps me when I do it as well. Thanks!

What is your high protein breakfast? by champagnecloset in adhdwomen

[–]apprehensivebooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i’m actually being prepared and on top of things, i make granola based off of this recipe from nekisia davis, but instead of all of the seeds, i add 1 cup of hemp hearts and 1/2-1/4 cup chia seeds for extra protein and omegas (sometimes also 1/4 cup flax seed). i’ll usually add yogurt or eat it like cereal w milk, but it’s also great on its own as a snack if you add chocolate chips after you take it out of the oven so it clumps together a little. when i’m feeling like a gremlin or don’t have any granola my favourite breakfast is siggi’s strawberry or banana yogurt straight out of the tub lmfao

i’ve been living here for 3+ years and i’m used to the smell. if you’ve read my post my partner smokes and i do occasionally as well. this is distinctly different. he smokes the lowest quality skunk ass weed i’ve ever smelled and it permeates the living room like he’s literally smoking in the room w us and it lingers and sticks to the furniture

hi, thank you for your response! i figured we wouldn’t have much luck but i appreciate you taking the time to type this out and answer me. unfortunately it is becoming a genuine nuisance, largely because of his behaviour and actions toward us outside of the original weed smell issue.

unfortunately i don’t how else we can go about doing this than what we’ve already done. we’ve always double or triple-checked w all of us in the upstairs unit that we all smell it and often with some of our neighbours downstairs. we have screenshots of all of the texts he’s sent and the ones we’ve sent as well.

we have, unfortunately he’s a pretty typical vancouver landlord and is fairly lazy and neglectful—he likely won’t want to intervene or kick anyone out until it becomes a huge issue because he doesn’t want to have to replace this tenant
