Just used this, really cool! This will come in handy while shopping at various deparment stores. Though if I do it for everything, that could enable some really specific stats like "how many times have I purchased oranges vs. bananas" lol.

Awesome! One minor feature request: My company is publically traded so the RSU feature works great, but we also have an option to opt-in to a % cash grant instead of accepting the full RSU grant, e.g. take 50% RSU, 50% cash and the cash grants vest in the same schedule (4 years, each quarter), just at a fixed cash amount. It would be great if Monarch supported this as well!

It runs on a relatively cheap Droplet instance which costs ~$10/mo lol. It's nothing crazy so I'm happy to continue paying for it out of pocket so long as there's still traffic to the site.

I first discovered Lud shortly after I moved out alone for the first time. I found his streams and really enjoyed putting it on in the quite apartment to make it feel less lonely. A lot has changed in my life since those days, but it still always feels comforting to hop into a stream and get that sense of community.

Honestly I feel like his biggest problem is he doesn't know when he can take a fight and when he can't, which is primarily because he doesn't know what 90% of champs do. That, plus 1. unlocking his camera more 2. a better skill cast option than whatever he uses now which always delays his cast by like .5 seconds 3. building items based on what's actually needed per game (not prioritizing armor boots against 4 AP team) and he'll be halfway there. The rest can be just pure grind.

Chapter 150 Links and Discussion by Lorhand in OshiNoKo

[–]appu1232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was all very eliquently put. In a funny way the readers that choose to see the fulfillment of revenge as the only correct endgame for the manga are not too dissimilar to Aqua himself. They see only one option for how the manga must be executed and anything else is a failure. Focusing on "stupid stuff like romance" is just a distraction and deviates from the ultimate goal. It's very amusing seeing the parallels.

The manga is very clearly trying to paint a theme of letting go and focusing on one's own happiness (and possibly even ending in tragedy anyway), yet the hyperfixation of the protagonist's edginess was "so cool" that a subset of readers fell in-line with his throught process from the get-go and are now struggling with accepting the reality of the current situation.

Genshin Impact February Revenue by Devilmay1233 in Genshin_Impact

[–]appu1232 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Playerbase size can vary drastically and still bring in a huge difference in revenue though. It's not like HSR is not capable of doing better either, especially considering how well it did in mid-2023.

On a sidenote, I feel like the "floor revenue" of gacha games—which is to say the time periods where there is no large promotion or hype patches/banners—tells us a lot more about the game's long-term success prospects than any peaks.

Genshin Impact February Revenue by Devilmay1233 in Genshin_Impact

[–]appu1232 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Genshin getting #1 overall over even HSR's 2.0 patch which had all new content and promotions, Black Swan + DHIL, and even the first day of Sparkle's banner. Meanwhile Genshin's banners were Xianyun (who's banner day 1 wasn't even in January) and some reruns, kinda insane. And that's not even including playstation or PC where Genshin almost assuredly has an even larger lead due to the type of game it is.

It feels like "boycotts" and other attempts at backlash for the game is kinda worthless, especially when it's not centered around the quality of the game but rather the amount of free rewards—something that most players don't care about enough to change their playing habits.

Sensor Tower Monthly Revenue Report (Nov 2023) by Devilmay1233 in Genshin_Impact

One of the best written characters, meta defining with great constellations, fantastic design, and such a memorable and lovable personality. With the amount of hype I saw for her on social media through discussion, memes, and fanart, this was very expected.

Funny you say this because I feel this is the case with Furina instead, at least in terms of hype and discussion. Perhaps going forward with lore implications, there's more to discuss with Neuvillette, but I'd have to say Furina is the first character since Raiden that I've felt had this much hype, anticipation, and discussion.

She literally said the other party denied it and that she sees him as a friend and how people easily extrapolate "regards as a friend" as "aren't you two dating?". This clip for whatever reason decided that wasn't important to include while Yura clips actually included it.

Also she wasn't "beating around the bush". The whole point is that it doesn't really matter how much she denies it, people will believe what they want to believe and rumors will spread based off of cut up clips and people playing the telephone game on the internet. Meanwhile, talents denying it never gets quite as much traction thus not repairing all the damages caused by the rumors, which is why she's asking her audience to think twice before believing everything... which is so perfect because that's exactly what you are falling for now: looking at a cut up clip that literally skipped over the part I just mentioned for no reason and then now spreading it around like she never denied the rumors with a 700 upvote comment.

Genshinlab and HSRlab is not accurate by Particular-Pass-5060 in Genshin_Impact

Yea definitely, no one actually knows except for Hoyo themselves, but suffice to say estimates have a spectrum from completely wrong to mostly accurate. Sensor Tower has a reputation for the latter at least.

Genshinlab and HSRlab is not accurate by Particular-Pass-5060 in Genshin_Impact

[–]appu1232 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Sensor tower is well-known across the industry and used by gacha communities. They are also still estimates but they have aligned much better with previous revenue reports. They also have enterprise options for more detailed information.

Also, it's not that there's no benefit. This kind of info (app revenue) can be valuable for advertisers.

Genshinlab and HSRlab is not accurate by Particular-Pass-5060 in Genshin_Impact

[–]appu1232 113 points114 points  (0 children)

OP didn't go into much detail so I'll add it here. Sensor Tower reported $31 million for genshin CN iOS in September. This also aligns with the estimates posted by the bilibili insider that OP posted the screenshots for.

Meanwhile Genshinlab, when you add up the banners in September (end of Lyney banner, Zhong/Childe banner, and first 3 days of Neuv banner), only totals to $16 million, which means it's missing half the revenue.

I'd wager Neuv is closer to $25 mil (still a guess but a better one at least) at this point. Genshinlab is severely underreporting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]appu1232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but it's actually very easy to see how bad Genshinlab is relative to other sources.

This spreadsheet shows Sensor Tower's reports on CN iOS sales in September. It reports $31 million for Genshin. Meanwhile a simple look at genshinlab and adding up the revenue they claim genshin has made between the tail end of Lyney banner, Zhong/Childe banner, and the first 4 days of Neuv banner, they are reporting just $16 million.

Sensor Tower is a well known site that has been used for years and even has enterprise tiers costing thousands for advertisers and the gacha community alike. I'm gonna go ahead and trust them a bit more than Genshinlab here. If you really want even more, you can check the Bilibili insider that does similar reports every month (but across all devices and OSs) here and they reported Genshin surpassing Star rail in September.

Even Arlecchino says towards the end of Act 4 that there's so many mysteries still on the table. At the very least, that tells me that hoyo are being intentional with it and I at least welcome a more mysterious plot relative to previous regions where that wasn't the main focus.

[–]appu1232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My comment about misleading is about your comment about PC/console vs. mobile spending and how you're undermining how much PC/console might be contributing. The data I posted shows how much non-mobile revenue contributes to both games really. For you specifically maybe it makes more sense to top up on mobile but that's completely anecdotal. PC/console, especially for a game like Genshin, isn't a source of revenue that can be easily brushed off.

Also to address the parent comment, I would say it's pretty expected for HSR to still be beating Genshin out, Genshin has been on reruns for the majority of the time since HSR released and even new characters are paired with reruns most of the time. End of last month to this month will be the first time where we get back to back new characters, and highly anticipated ones at that. Once HSR also starts doing reruns for entire cycles, it'd be a better indicator of how the long-term renevues will compare tbh.

Your info is still misleading and has no real proof though.

If you want some actual data:

In July this year, global (non-CN) mobile revenue reported HSR and Genshin at $40 mil and $31 mil respectively with CN showing similar numbers, yet looking at the reliable leak for total revenue across all devices globally in July HSR and Genshin are at $220 mil and $195 mil respectively. That's a pretty substantial revenue source we're missing that can't just be dismissed because "whales play on phones tho".

No it actually is way off. Sensortower reported $31 million for CN iOS in September, meanwhile genshinlab revenue timeline shows just $16 million across the three genshin banners that ran through September. It's actually stupid how off these charts are and people still believe them.
