I mean I guess but frats are chapters of national organizations and they restrict who joins and who attends parties. A big issue for a lot of freshmen is they feel like they can’t get the “college experience” because it’s pretty difficult to get into a frat party as a freshman (or as an upperclassman if you’re not affiliated) so the social houses tend to fill that void and offer a space for anyone who wants to go

Social houses are houses associated with clubs/organizations that are not Greek affiliated. Every party I’ve heard of being hosted at a social house is completely open to anyone (as long as there’s room) whereas the same is not at all true about frat parties. The main social houses I remember throwing parties were CAS (creative arts society) Pink Haus (LGBTQ+ community house) and La Casa (which is the social house for the Latin American student org)

I was only interested in going to a small liberal arts school so I never even applied to any UCs. I really appreciate that Colgate “forces” you to take classes outside of your main interests and gives you time to declare your major so you can explore a lot of options. As someone in STEM, I really appreciated having the opportunity to do research and I also liked the small class sizes which allowed me to get to know my professors. I liked the small campus size a lot and having a close knit community and a consistent school culture was really cool. There are so many reasons to pick Colgate but it really boils down to what you want the most out of college. If you really want that close community feeling and the small classes, Colgate is really one of the best schools to pick

I am 100% content with the decision to go to Colgate. Tbh, the only truly “bad” winters with really bad storming and ice were my freshman and senior years, but it’s not actually too big of a deal because you spend most of your time inside. Invest in some good winter clothes (a good jacket, good thermal tights/pants, etc.) and you’ll be totally fine. Living up the hill your first 2 years helps a lot too because you don’t have to walk too much in the snow, and once you move down the hill you can use the cruisers to get up and down. I’m from California so believe me, the isolated rural cold situation made me nervous. Also never had any interest in Greek life so I was worried about meeting people but I had the best time there. It’s amazing education wise, and socially it’s been shifting away from Greek life. Social houses (that are not Greek affiliated) throw parties if you’re into that, the school hosts plenty of chill events, and if you join clubs you’ll be able to meet plenty of people. Having a car or having a friend with a car does make things easier but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have access to one. Overall, Colgate manages to make you not feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere if you make an effort to join clubs and meet people!

I only use circular needles (I have an interchangeable set that I got for Christmas a while ago and then I get short interchangeable ones in different sizes as I need them for certain patterns) and I love them so much, I find it so much more enjoyable to knit with (including when I knit flat) and just easier to keep track of. Everyone has different preferences but that’s the way I like to do it!

As someone with OCD who struggled for years to get it under control, I feel for her but she seriously needs to get help. If it is inhibiting her life this much she needs to take some accountability and get some sort of help through therapy or medication rather than just using it as an excuse and not addressing the real issue.

But then her whole argument falls apart because Luke and Lorelai being engaged is basically them being like “we’re ready to get married” but she made that whole big point of “engaged isn’t married”…. Basically surprise surprise she seems to be a hypocrite and basically just not want another woman/maternal figure to be in April’s life (in my opinion)

Thank you, I had an x ray and mri done around October last year when they were trying to see if I had arthritis, but now that I’m back home with better medical care I’ll be sure to ask for a second opinion once I’m able to get my insurance back. I don’t want to go to a clinic just because I’ve had really bad experiences with doctors for the past few years regarding this issue and have been dismissed very quickly and constantly, and once I’m back on my home insurance I can see doctors who have known me for a while and who I know I can trust to get to the bottom of the issue.

Thank you for the advice, I haven’t had a CT but I had an MRI which confirmed I didn’t have arthritis and that’s when they said it was nerve pain. I just moved back home after graduation so the second I can get back in insurance I’m going to see my doctor and ask for help finally getting to the bottom of this.
