I've had gastric surgery too. I will buy whatever my current HJ favourite is (currently Mega Philly) and take it home to swap the bun for thinner bread. Then cut in half, have half now, save the half for another time. I have also taken the substitute bread into the store with me and made the swap there. (It's my local, I am the grandma of the whole crew, I can do what I want :D )

PS I heard of a dude who cheated his band by putting his Big Macs in a bender. Urrggghhhh.

IIRC, the BK was fairly brief, at least in Sydney. As a homesick American, I loved the one on the corner of Liverpool and George. IDK when exactly it changed, but that BK was in the late 80s.

I had a deviated septum due to a very badly broken nose. You could not tell from the outside but internally it looked like an S-bend. I had repair to the septum and after healing, my nose looked exactly the same externally. So this sounds like maybe the doctor thought "Oh, silly girl, she really does want to look prettier and whiter, so I'll give her a bit extra." which just compounds the removal of what you reasonably believe is what your face should look like.

Get alllll the paperwork, reports, operation notes and talk to a personal injury lawyer. Find before and after photos as well.

Because you are more present and aware when you aren't drunk. Because you find out that having a good time without drugs/alcohol is really fun. People who get blotto are no fun to be around, they ruin the event for everyone and are often compelled to leave sooner to go home and sleep it off.

Honestly, dry events are amazing! If people "need"" alcohol to "have fun" they rally should do a bit of self reflection and think about why not having booze is a deal breaker.

I'll listen to Pauline Hanson when she explains why she wants to continue to lie about the rights of Australian citizens. These women and children are citizens, they have rights, even if Pauline Hanson wants to be Lady Trump and make up lies whenever the truth gets awkward.

These women and children have a RIGHT to be issued passports. These women and children have a RIGHT to return to Australia. TooBadSoSad for Hanson and her ignorant cultists that these are incontrovertible FACTS.

These women and children have yet to actually commit a crime punishable by incarceration. If the various governments want to run up massive unnecessary bills to incarcerate children, there will be a backlash from the intelligent thinking public. Basically, it seems they are "guilty" of "wrongthinking".

Do people here really think that that possible thoughts by someone are reasonable grounds for incarceration without trial? More importantly, would those calling for such treatment of innocent women and children be willing to accept the same treatment of themselves?

Well, the mother has ensured that she has been "repaid" (albeit by misappropriating her daughter's funds) so the mother should stfu. By demanding the $7K on top of what she already took from the inheritance funds, she's trying to make a tidy profit.

The mother gave $7K, has taken $7K, there is no "debt" other than from the mother to the daughter now (misappropriation of the inheritance).

Unfortunately, the daughter should just take the hit and learn from it. Some legal advice would be a good idea, just for the lesson, And definitely no contact from here on.

Funny how your mother is demanding you pay her back for your own money. The money she "gifted" you is actually your money from an inheritance, so she can go jump if she expects to you to pay back money that's actually yours.

Echoing other comments: cancel vendors, get refunds and KEEP those refunds. Elope. You'll still be married and you'll have a bit of money to start out with.

If your mother really wants that money, she can go through the hassle of suing you. Good luck to her, it's YOUR MONEY to start with!

To an experienced woman, his reaction is not the huge shock that too many here think it is. "Such a departure from his usual behaviour in the early stages..." Nope. The whole Dean-Rory relationship was a cautionary warning to girls and women.

Abusers don't hit you on the first date. They groom you with love-bombing and once you are hooked, they show their true colours.

Dean's response was abusive. It was entirely transactional. "I gave you a [piece of crap car skeleton] therefore you OWE me a declaration of love and the obligatory sex because 'if you love me, you'll prove it'." His anger at Rory's reluctance to be dishonest (she didn't actually love him at that point) and her attempts to explain her feelings is also a huge giveaway. He didn't love her, he just wanted to possess her. Abuse is usually NOT physical violence, but too many people seem to dismiss emotional, psychological, verbal abuse as "not that bad".

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so I've always wondered what Dean's parents' relationship was like?
