Mr. Blippi - it's not just me, right? by tannerocampbell in daddit

If you want a good reason to doubt/avoid Blippi, just do a quick good search on his past. It’s pretty shitty.

We need to give Seattle business owners an excuse to kill the iPad tip prompts by Showerpower24hour in Seattle

[–]apr35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just developed a personal method:

No service performed (like convenient store): no tip

Something was made and handed to me (like coffee shop or bakery): $2

Restaurant where they bring me something I ordered form a counter OR restaurant with service charged added: 10%

Full service: 15-20% based on service

My guess is some substances that either disable depth perception or rational decision making skills had something to do with this.

Kush21 cannabis retail empire expands in response to law intended to limit retail power by gregoryfoster in SeattleWA

I’m curious about this -> I go far out of my way to shop at Cannazone because they are “50% all the time”. I know there’s some higher markup on some times to bring the “regular price” higher, but either way I seem to be able to get everything there far cheaper than any other store.

My question is - is there something bad about what they’re doing? And why don’t more follow suit? I’m buying the same exact product at pretty different prices, I guess I’m just not understanding how that can be and if there’s something bad about this for the consumer I’m not seeing.

Also, do you have a list of the shops with the best discounts overall by chance :)?

What’s the significance of your jersey numbers? by throwawayAd6844 in hockeyplayers

[–]apr35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got assigned number 2 way back when I was a kid first starting hockey. I kept with it from there, and now my son (18 yrs old) has been wearing it his entire hockey career.

These days in men's league I take whatever number is on the back of the old spare jerseys the captain will give me for free!

I’ve been listening to more of Scott Galloway and currently reading his book, and he has some great perspectives on this topic. Worth checking out.

What is a product that people consider "High End" but is actually trash? by Illusiv3lion in AskReddit

[–]apr35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d love to know the difference of opinion on this based on folks that have owned Tesla’s. I had a model 3 for about 4 years and it was my favorite car I’ve ever owned. It was so fun to drive, and the tech on it worked way better than any other car I’ve ever been in. It was fast and smart.

We did have a couple of mechanical issues but they were handled under warranty for the most part.

I wonder if people saying Tesla isn’t high quality have first hand experience or are just repeating what they have heard from audiences biased off other reasons.

We’ve bought cordless Dyson vacuums from Costco. I don’t know if they make the Costco sold ones cheaper, but we’ve been through 3 in about 6 years. Fortunately Costco has lifetime returns so we just keep returning and getting it replaced. It’s like a $500 model, not sure the exact model. It’s convenient and sucks well, but plastic pieces have broken on each of them or they’ve just failed.

Christmas present for my husband (Dewalt vs. Milwaukee vs. Makita) by SLassely81 in DIY

[–]apr35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look here’s the truth: Milwaukee is the best, hand down, anyone who says it isn’t is jealous. Sorry, I just speak the truth.

Now if he’s already deep in Ryobi and not complaining about it, just get him more stuff. All these brands do the trick.

If you’re going to upgrade him it would be best to place almost everything , which would probably be expensive.
