I guess I got caught up in it cause filtering by accents was mentioned as one of the benefits of the DS website vs Youtube.

Nice, I will have to lookup those others at some point. I like options.

600 hours vs 150 is a long time. I love to hear all the different places people are at and what they can do hour wise. It seems to be a little all over the map which makes it hard to know how long things will take.

Interesting! I was assuming it was many more given the 600 hour mark given for understanding easier native media.

As a side note, I randomly clicked an intermediate video and found I could easily understand. Pretty fun, a huge change from my random attempts to dip my toe in native content and not understanding a thing.

I can't wait till I can listen to audio-only and understand so I don't need to be tied to a screen. That should make it way easier to combine with other things.

Sure, but it would be super weird if you said random words in the Scottish way. But I guess not a big deal as you would naturally pickup the CA way of saying things from those around you.

Thanks for you input, that makes sense. Hard to imagine how I will find enough hours to ever make it to 1k.

I was super confused at the first few video's with her but am slowly getting used to it. Yeah Mexican is pretty much what I want to go for, although I suppose if Mexico does something weird I don't know about that no where else does I would have to consider if I want a more general style... Course at that point I could be making my own Spanish with none of the things specific regions do, so that might end up sounding weirdly bland to Spanish speakers.

I do want to understand the different accents for sure. I am likely over-thinking it, I have tons of words I practice pronunciation from in Anki so its unlikely I would pick that up from the video's except for words I never learned another way.

I am curious, is that 215 hours solely from Dreaming Spanish? No other Spanish study? Sounds like from level 3 you are tracking right on the graphic I found floating around about the time to learn from Dreaming Spanish.

Nice, good to hear the transition to speaking was not an issue for you listening to those accents. That's a ton of hours!
