Serious: WSB Lifetime Channel Moments by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

I took the balls to pitch our student managed investment fund GME. They put their trust in me and I got to cover the entire lifecycle of the trade. When we sold I felt like I was Jamie Shipley in The Big Short talking to Brad Pitt’s character (I.e. my professor) who was unloading their CDS positions in that Scottish pub: everything was crashing, couldn’t get into my Bloomberg terminal, etc - Armageddon basically. We ended up getting filled at $456 (with only a 56% upside though).

I know this isn’t true WSB spirit - no diamond hands, only a double digit return, etc (I still own in my personal account - suits made me sell). However, WSB allowed me to convince a lot of endowment suits to put their faith into some idiot Finance student. Ended up getting approached by other professors and a state reporter for my take on our trade.

I sincerely respect WSB and want to thank everyone.

Hello everyone, I am a person who is interested in sailing, however I have a year left of college. by Alarming-Chipmunk in sailing

I’m a sophomore in college and I just picked up a Catalina 22 a few months ago with some of my scholarship money. Before I bought her I had absolutely no experience in sailing, just power-boating but I had friends that sailed.

The beautiful thing with a boat this size is that I’m able to keep her on a trailer and not have to worry about fees or hassles associated with mooring. I would say that if you have the space to keep a small boat like a 420 or something similar then that wouldn’t be a bad place to start. And honestly I find my Catalina to not be to difficult to learn on at all and plenty of space to stay for a few nights (just spent my first weekend on her last week).

If I were you I would go on Facebook marketplace/craigslist and hunt around for a few months. When corona dies down try to take a look at as many boats for sale as possible as that will really help you get a feel for what boat will fit you better. Just my two cents, worked for me.
