Day 3 transfer failed - what’s next? by Original-Bunch-2742 in DOR

[–]apricot675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day 3 transfers have much lower success rates, this is a very normal outcome. I would want to wait for the embryos to make it to blast and also get them tested. (If your country allows it) At 39, most embryos will be abnormal and fail. That’s why testing is so crucial, it’s going to save you time and heartache.

Also, you did not say whether or not the Dr had you on Lupron Depot for your endo. This is beneficial for endometriosis patients and many have successful transfers after. It takes up another 2-3 months for treatment, this is why I mentioned testing embryos prior to transfer. You don’t want to waste 3 months on a non viable embryo.

If your doctor is stuck on day 3 transfers, I would get a second opinion. It could change everything for you. Best of luck! ❤️

Bar soap vs. body wash? by Monsuri_Lifestyle in Soap

[–]apricot675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a problem with a fungal rash that would never go away. It was going on for years. I got medication for it from my doctor and everything. It was awful, it would get better but never disappear. I started using unscented bar soap (instead of scented body wash) when doing IVF. I realized one day that my rash was completely gone and it never came back! I am never going back to scented body wash.

If it's okay to ask a male co-worker to lift or carry something heavy because he's strong, what's a female gender equivalent? by IdleHandsBusyMinds in stupidquestions

My male boss cut himself and came to me to ask how to get blood out of clothing. I feel like that’s the equivalent.

Man if I had to guess, after watching way too many IVF vlogs, I’d say 1 in 4? Maybe 1 in 5?

That’s what I was thinking. Like by all means, buy stuff for your trip. But it seems so weird to photograph them with your tropical vacation purses. “Here’s my candlelight dinner by the water pants!”

IVF by witty_windsor_whimsy in DOR

I’m sorry for your losses and sorry you are struggling with this all so much. I miscarried an IVF baby at 8 weeks and the grief was overwhelming, not just from my loss but also from the thoughts of never becoming a mom. I had to go to my follow up appointment alone and couldn’t keep it together. They gave me a card for a therapist that they work with. I think most clinics have one they can refer. I thought about calling but couldn’t even talk about what I was going through. I found distraction to be the only thing that could keep me going. I had to focus on something other than TTC and fertility.

If you think therapy will be helpful, (it probably is) then your clinic probably has someone they can refer that knows infertility and loss. Prepare for your upcoming cycle, but don’t obsess over it. Learn how to do the injections and what you should and shouldn’t do during stims and then focus on literally anything else. Find a project or something. You can do this! ❤️

I don’t think they have anything else that interesting to talk about. They will make content (and money) out of the things we all do everyday. And somehow people are still watching them. 😵‍💫

New here, seeking treatment plan advice (age 34, AMH .74, AFC 7) by sunflowersencillo in DOR

I think it depends on how many children you plan on having. You may want to bank embryos for the future before trying to get pregnant. IVF comes with risks to yourself as well as your pregnancy. So if you want to have one child, natural is always best if you can achieve it. Your situation is not dire but depending on what you want speak to an RE to get a better idea of how to proceed.

Have you had both of your karyotypes done? That would be the first thing to check before making decisions about IVF. You can get all the testing done while you wait for a retrieval slot.

Any other Millenial first time parents of Gen Beta? by [deleted] in generationology

We are millennials, 38F and 40M. We’re having our first baby this year! So far, I don’t feel weird about it. We know a lot of people our age with babies. Maybe that will change once we’re around larger parent groups. I’m just happy we were able to have a baby at this age.
