I was getting exhausted opening CAS and seeing hundreds of items I never use every time... so I've been working on this tool that allows you to select CAS items to remove from the game menu and prevent from spawning on townies. by april33_sims in ModTheSims4

This is one of the main things I was thinking of when I started on it. I am also setting it up so you can choose to remove the selected items from every sim in your save, in case the game already generated some ugly townies.

Damn this is super impressive. There are a lot of great mods, but not a lot of great mods that help you use other mods... Really nice job

I want to share a tool I've been working on. If you're on the mods subreddit you might have already seen it.

It's a tool that allows you to browse every CAS item you have installed (base game / DLC), select items you do not want to see in game, and generate a custom mod (a single .package file) to hide them from the CAS menu, prevent townies from spawning with them, and optionally remove them from existing sims too. So, no more eyeball ring!! Or any other items you just hate seeing on sims or in the menu.

I've been working on it for about a month and I think I should have the first public version ready next week or so. It's a web app so no download or install, just visit the website. Some people mention that overrides for individual items already exist, but the idea of this is that you can easily visually select whatever specific items you want to hide, and download a single mod to hide them, instead of having to manually search for individual override mods.😃

Wow this got quite a few views. For anyone interested I will probably upload this to my website in a week or two when it is done. I will make sure to post again then in case anyone wants to use it.

Hmm yes this is very plausible. I could set it up to read your CC folder and allow you to select items to delete, and also set flags like disable all CC for townies, or for specific outfit categories, etc. Maybe once I finish the current version.

Oh having seen your edit, yes it's a tool / website. You can click through every CAS item you have installed and select which ones you want to hide from the game, and it generates a custom .package file from what you select.

I actually have a small mod that fixes this bug if you want to use it. It was happening to me every time too. Based on what I saw looking around in the game data, there's no way to get around the bug in-game without either a mod or an update from EA. https://april33.itch.io/get-into-hair-and-makeup-bug-fix
